My friends and I were talking about RBI last night and it made me hearken back to college and all the great times we had playing the best baseball video game EVER!

Anyway, we were talking about the players and who was on what team and I wanted to know the truth that night, so I dug out my nintendo and RBI and fired it up.  This was at 3:00am this morning  and after having a few cold ones, so that probably fueled my desire.

Getting the game up-and-running was very much in question... not only because it's been in my garage for three years, but because of the game itself.  When we were freshmen in college a friend of mine was getting very irritated that we couldn't get RBI going.. just the green screen.  So he decided to try and pry it open... for what reason I don't know.  He ended up snapping a triangle shape piece off the back of the game.  Of course it worked after we put it back in.  Regardless, it's always been easily the most touchiest game as far as getting it started.

Back to my 3am walk down memory lane.  All I wanted to do is see every player and report back to the guys I was talking to that night, so they would know who was where and so on.

After two hours of quality sleep (yeah right!), I realized that I could of saved myself some time because there had to be something on the internet.  And so it took me a total of five seconds to find this site.  But I enjoyed feeling the controller in my hand and just seeing the game again.

I have a couple of items to add or prompt discussion...

Glitch:

I'm still a little hungover, so maybe I missed it on the site, but my favorite glitch is when the 3b (maybe SS as well) will toss it wide of first... I think it was between home and first.  I had this happen twice when I was batting and playing a novice player.  Novice is also something we would yell out when someone would throw to the wrong base or basically make a bad fielding play.

Watch Mode:

I agree the Watch Mode is ridiculous, but in my Sophomore year in college we came up with a drinking game to go along with it.  AL vs NL and you drink on every ball hit into play. One drink for a single, two for a double and so on.  You'd sort of get a rest when batting because you would only drink on the outs.  If there was only two of you, one would take the AL and one the NL... of course if there were more people, you just even out between the two teams.

Remember, the computer never lies.

I did a search on Yahoo for RBI Baseball and this site was the first one listed.

I agree...it's great to get all this new blood.  RBI fuckin' rocks my socks off.  Hell, it even gave my Grandma a reach around last night...and to that I salute you.  God save the Godfather.

Nothing like playing a drinking game to watch mode and or betting on it.  Visit www.dee-nee.com and click on drinking game.  Ahh, death.
