Some updates for my RBI ROM (plus editor info)

Notice anything different in the screenshots below?  Aside from that, I'm also trying to get another surprise graphics hack into the next release, but I'm not sure it's possible yet.  This is all possible courtesy of another dude from the Tecmo community (not the guy who did the 30 team ROM). It's also courtesy of achildprodigy, indirectly.

I started work on the 30-Team offline editor.  I have it loading all the information and you're able to change it, you just can't save it back to the ROM yet.

Once I have time to get it saving, I'll release it, and then release another version shortly after with some of the non-essential stuff, like changing of some palettes, import/export of data from a CSV file, etc...

BTW, I used the Brewers vs. the Nationals in honor of the Brewers laying 2 giant turds in a row vs. them.  Dammit all.

Keep up the good work Turd.. All the work you have been doing is awesome and much appreciated! Let me know when I can check out a ROM with the altered field b/c I think thats awesome.. Its a good change playing with an altered field and gives an old game new life..

I get a lot of help. Lots of good people in the hacking community. I agree on the field thing. Achildprodigy gets credit for the original idea. He does some amazing work. Plus, cxrom and jstout are great resources too.

I just had the stuff copied over, I can't take credit for this, it was ripped from achildprodigy's New RBI Rom.  All I'll take credit for is the initiative to seek the resources to get it done

Editor is still coming along.  I ran into some issues with it, hopefully some time this week will iron them out.

Just an update, since I made a major breakthrough today (WPF is both excitingly fun to write code in and incredibly weird and difficult for a transitioning WinForms/Web programmer).

What it does:
Loads player and team data from the ROM
Provides a UI to change the values (this proved more difficult than it sounds)

What it needs to do before I release it to a few people for beta testing:
Write the data back to the ROM
Attract mode names
Edit the copyright text (so it doesn't say "made by tecmoturd" or whatever)

What I plan to make it do sometime:
Field choice (dirt paths or retro field)
Field/dirt color
Team skin color
Misc. hacks (Pinch Hit Bonus, etc)
Import/export
At-a-glance uniform view (to assist with separating uniforms)
Any other cool hacks that I may or may not include based on what my hacker buds provide me...

Since I haven't found a way to do it yet, it won't be in the editor. If it does, most definitely.

I'd like to see it where only games where the AL is home does the DH come into play. Otherwise it'd play like normal. My hacking buddy is on a break from hacking stuff, so unless my other pal or nightwulf do it for us, were SOL.

Unfortunately, the guy I was working with dropped off the face of the earth.  As I said, we were communicating almost daily, and it's probably been close to a month since he last responded to a PM from me.  I've given up on that for now.  It's a mega bummer cause he was close to being done with some awesome stuff.  I just chalk it up to something more important in his life came up, so for now, I'm grateful for what we have.  And all that is part of the reason why I moved forward with the league.

What a bummer. Did the guy at least give you what he had done already, so someone else can pick it up where he left off? I was really looking forward to some of the things that were in the works.. Nope, he was doing them all at once.  I Hope he contacts me too.  either way, least we have a 30 team ROM with an editor.  'Im happy with that.
