Sutclf, Mtngly, and Strwby lead the way for the Empire

Imperial Center (AP) - The Galactic Empire is one game away from their 3rd straight trip to the FRBI WS with their 12-10 victory over the Banana Hammocks.

The Banana Hammocks led 6-5 after 4 innings, but from there it was all Empire ball. R.Sutclf only allowed 1 run in long relief and the Empire took a 12-7 lead into the 9th inning and held on as D.Rbnsn ended a Hammock 9th inning rally.

D.Mtngly and D.Strwby each hit a pair of shots and drove in 8 of the 12 runs to lead the way on offense. Defensively, Shrdn threw out two runners at home plate to kill the momentum that the Hammocks generated. The Empire bullpen allowed 3 runs in two innings as they did their job and in not blowing a lead by giving up a fury of runs to a dangerous Hammock lineup.

The Empire is now 12-1 overall at home this year at the Imperial Center. The mystique continues to grow and visiting teams have more than just the Empire to deal with---the Force in the Imperial Center felt by the opposition has been  something nobody has been able to figure out this year. The Empire will look to clinch the Dove RBI LCS for a third straight season at home in game 5. "The Force is with us, and we feel nobody can beat us at home, and we play like it", said owner Darkside.

GDavis blasts two grand slams and his 11 RBI's leads the way for the OC Legions of Doom

Chicago (AP) - In a historical night at Soldier Field, GDavis set a new LCS record by hitting two grand slams in one game as well as registering 11 RBI. The OC Legions of Doom mercy ruled the Ulrachers 22-12 in 6 innings to capture game 4 and take a commanding 3-1 series lead.

The OC jumped out to a 10-3 lead after 3 and half innings, but the Ulrachers narrowed the gap 10-8 when they rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. However, the OC put their foot on the throttle and went on to oustscore the Ulrachers 12-4 in the next three innings as they finally put them away in the sixth inning.

GDavis went 4-6 with two grand slams, a double and 11 RBI in a career night while McGwir also blasted a pair of shots and had 4 RBI. The OC offense was simply too much for the Ulrachers too keep up with. The struggling Ulrachers appear to be outmatched this series and will need better pitching if they wish to pull of the improbable comeback.

America's team is one game away from their combined 5th WS appearance. The Legions of Doom have made two appearances and the OC won back-to-back titles in seasons II-III. A dream match up for the media would be an Empire-OC clash in the WS.

What is the deal with Hurst?  I noticed in game 1 as well that he throws a ton of balls - even aside from the walks, it seemed like he was producing a bunch of 2-ball and 3-ball counts, far more than I expect from a watch game.

4 walks I saw in the two games. Vlnza walked Clemens in my game. I think Hurst led the league in walks btw...He's always outside of the black and throws a lot of knuckles. FRBI's Dice K?

Ulrachers 6-run rally in the ninth wins it

Chicago (AP) - Down 17-12 in the bottom of the 9th and facing elimination, Rynlds hit a lead off pinch hit home run to fuel a ninth inning comeback rally victory for the Fighting Ulrachers.

After the pinch hit home run, Grelts singled and Guerro homered to make it 17-15. W.Clark then grounded out to record the first out, Whittkr then singled which was followed up by a Laudnr double putting runners on second and third with Hendrk coming up. With the capacity crowd at Soldier Field on their feet and roaring at the top of their lungs, Hendrk delivered the game winning hit when he lined a single into the gap. The Ulrachers stormed home plate to celebrate while there was mayhem going on in the stands.

The series will now move over to Sioux Falls Stadium for game 6.

Tudor and Hammocks dominate Empire

Imperial Center (AP) - J.Tudor went the distance and only allowed 8 runs while the Hammocks got plenty of offense as they dominated the Empire with a 16-8 victory.

A.Dawson had a huge night to lead the Hammocks. The superstar blasted three mammoth shots and drove in 7 runners. D.Hndrsn also had a big night with a 5-5 performance and 2 HR's while inspirational leader Stinky Sullivan went 4-5 from the 8-hole. The Banana Hammocks outhit the Empire 26-15 and the Empire could simply not figure out Tudor.

The Hammocks came back from a 3-1 series deficit to beat the Poopydicks in the divisional playoffs and they are now looking to pull off some more magic to dethrone the defending champions.

The loss was the Empire's second of the year at home, and now the series will move back to Quinlan Park in Milwaukee for game 6.

There will be a game 7 for everybody. The Empire's offense has disappeared. Also, A.Dawson should be banned from the game. We'll find a way to get it done in game 7, the Empire is at its best in do or die situations.

The Hammocks deserve this.  Underdog story.
