Game 1

In the first game of the series, it was a pitching duel until the 6th when McCutcheon banged a solo gomer to put the A's up 1-0. In the 8th, a two run shot padded the A's lead and the bullpen held on for the shutout victory. Very solid performance from both teams. Great game, cleanly played.

Game 2

The second game of the series was a weird one, with a poor call by an ump(glitch) costing the A's an early run in the 2nd inning. With runners at the corners with two outs, and Ianetta at the plate the Mets tried the delayed double steal first heading to second base then the runner breaking late from 3rd toward the plate. The A's catcher threw out the runner at 2nd by several steps for the 3rd out of the inning, however the umpire ruled the run counted even though replays clearly showed the 3rd out was recorded before the run crossed the plate. After that, the A's fell apart with sloppy defense(a nauseating season high 3 errors) and the Mets pitching put them out of their misery, holding on for the shutout. The Mets added an insurance run in the 8th with a solo shot by Cedeno.
