Not sure if you've seen this or not. They pay homage to RBI at 4:27.

Where is your avatar from?  Is it one of the newer Pro Yakyuu games?

My avatar is from Super Famista 5 by Namco on the Super Famicom. This is the best Super Nintendo baseball game ever. All the great gameplay of RBI Baseball that includes saved seasons, team/individual stat keeping (every stat category), league leaders board, and you can create players. The Japanese symbols took me a little getting used to but once you play a few games it's easy to figure out what symbols represents a particular stat category.

Do you play this with an emulator? I've always wanted to play some of the super famicom games, but never delved into that.  I probably should at some point.  Can you edit team names or colors or anything?

It'd be cool to do a translation for this game like Nightwulf did for Family Stadium 90

No editing of team colors or team names. You can essentially create a whole established team with the players names and stats of your choice. Unfortunately there is no limit of how much attributes you can give your character so to make the game a challenge go sparingly on it. I found this game cart at my local swap meet for $3 so I decided to give it a try. I filed down the notches that block Super Famicom games from being played on my SNES and it was definitely worth it as it is such a great gameplay baseball game. Super Famista is what RBI Baseball would have been on the SNES but for some reason people at Namco thought that us Americans don't like Big head, fat players, and cartoonish homerun animations.

I'll have to try this game with ZSNES and see if it plays...It's too bad that the Pro Yakyuu or Famista series wasn't continued in the US.  Either way, I'm fin with RBI for my retro and MLB the Show for my modern...though I am always curious if I find a good game I haven't played before.

I remember when the 360 was going to come out with one a few years back and then it got tabled.  That was sad...

That would be sweet if someone would do a translation for Super Famista 5. With all the different stadiums, diving, homerun snagging, and deep stat keeping it has it would be the second best old school baseball game hands down. I guarantee once you start playing this game you won't put it down.

FYI Pro Yakyuu was continued in the US on the PS2 and Wii under MLB Power Pros. I played it but I wasn't into it as I am into RBI and Famista. Check it:

I played it for the iPhone...it was pretty good. Too bad it stopped being developed...

I have Power Pros '08 on the Wii.  It was fun, but it was like RBI in graphical style only - the gameplay wasn't at all the same.  The RPG-style "work your way to the majors" thing was neat, too, but I never put enough time into it to actually finish it.

I just tried this game. It's pretty damn good. I wish there was a translation though. That'd be sweet.  It's tough to play otherwise. I need to find someone who speaks Japanese.

It does take some time to get used to but after a few plays I was able to create a player and play a full season. You can even create a season where you pick the teams in the league including the American All-Stars and Namco team and design the schedule. Once you start seeing the same Japanese symbols in the box score and at bats you realize what they mean. Trust me it's easier to pick up than it seems. I do wish there were a way to translate this game to english though.
