GREAT ROM again TURD!
just played on beta C (juiced) and had a few suggestions/corrections

Red Sox:
Sizemore bats R but he's a lefty
Middlebrooks should have a bit more power (move from 812 to 835)
Napoli should have more power (move from 843 to 860)
Carp should have lower power (move from771 to 760)

NY teams: the Uniforms for the teams are switched (currently NYY is in Blue/Orange and NYM is in Black/grey)

Also, when I played and used all 4 pitchers in the next game (without resetting it) I was only offered the two relievers and no SP. IS that intentional? Shouldn't there be at least one SP available?

Lastly, please remind me the value and range of CNT (Contact?)
And BOOM goes the Dynamite!

Turd

Contact is the penalty subtracted from power when you don't square up. There are 6 zones on the bat and each zone multiplies the penalty. 0,1,2 etc.

Thanks for the updates! I'm not sure how the unis got all messed up, that was pretty much set.  I'll look into it and the rating increases.

Turd

Pitchers at at 64 contact and I can't remember what the lowest was.

just modified my last post but maybe its better as  new one:

That's standard RBI behavior.  If you're playing a no-reset series/season, you can't use any starting pitcher in consecutive games.

Nope that's from the original game. You're only supposed to use one SP per game in a series.

Turd, is the .txt file in the first post up-to-date?  If so, the Twins roster could use a couple updates - Presley (Alex, not Ryan) ended up getting waived and picked up by the Pirates, and Parmelee got sent to AAA to start the season.  The opening-day roster would've been this:

Dozier
Mauer
Willingham
Kubel (DH)
Arcia
Plouffe
Suzuki
Hicks
Florimon

Colabello
Escobar
Pinto

Nolasco
Correia
Fien (or Burton)
Perkins

They just picked up Sam Fuld from the A's, but he wasn't with the Twins to start the season and didn't replace any of the guys that are on the roster above (they had added Darin Mastroianni after Willingham went on the DL, and they waived him to make room for Fuld).

I would note that, as terrible as the Twins look in RBI based on last year's stats, they are currently second in the majors in runs per game.

That came from someone who posted above, but I'll use your recommendations since you're a Twins guy.

For the NY teams, you're right.  Dammit.  This is why I'm doing betas for the first few releases.  When I go to a full version, I'll be definitely thoroughly testing every team.

As for Boston, thanks for the suggestions on power.  This ROM (and all my ROMs) are rated based on last year's stats (and a little gut feel) and are rated in relation to all the other batters.  The only exceptions I make are generally if a guy has high average with a good number of AB and low HR, or a high OBP as a lead-off guy with not a lot of HR.

I'll probably keep them where they are right now until the next big ratings cutoff.

I'm contemplating a 3-year average next year to determine ratings instead of just a single year to take some of the weight off of a single year in terms of how it affects a player.  We'll see how it goes, that might get kind of nutty.  One year at a time!

VEGAS

Happy to help. As for the power changes I made those two upgrade suggestion because both Napoli and middlebrooks have a lot o power (especially Napoli who hits them farther than Papi or anyone else on the team). Middlebrooks just needs more power because that's truer to his hitting-- though hes also a high K guy so maybe its offset by affecting that rating.

Don't forget the switch of sizemore to lefty

And a new one: I just played as Dodgers and all looks good except Figgins is in the minors-- with no sign of a call-up. Does anyone know who should replace him on the roster? Maybe the backup Catcher: Butera?

Turd, I think you have the Tigers starting lineup and pitchers perfect.  For the bench, Dirks and Kelly look good.  Romine is a switch hitter but other than that looks good.  Lombardozzi is on the Orioles.  For the last bench spot, I think there are two guys to consider, Danny Worth and JD Martinez.  Worth is a utility infielder (boring for RBI purposes, but more sure to be with the team long-term).  Martinez is an outfielder who just got called up from Toledo after hitting 10 bombs already this year.  I guess he was in the bigs with Houston the last few years.  It would be cool (for me as a Tigers fan) to have some pop on the bench.  Not sure how long he stays in the bigs though.  (l Looked at the roster right below the version C download link.  Hopefully that's right)

Are you still considering doing carts again this year when you get the rosters set?  I coach HS baseball and we set up a TV with and NES and RBI 2013.  All of us 30-something coaches are big into it.  Just moved it to the storage shed/press box now that the weather has warmed up.

Thanks for the work you're doing.

Batting orders for SF should go something like this:

CF - Pagan
RF - Pence
3B - Sandoval
C - Posey
LF - Morse
1B - Belt
SS - Crawford
2B - Hicks

Although they just moved Sandoval to the 5th spot (with Posey and Morse sliding up to 3-4) in this last series, so you might want to wait to see if that sticks.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Ah, completely forgot to double-check on your website.  Hicks actually bats low in the order rather than leadoff (Presley was originally projected as the leadoff man before Hicks won the center field job), but that's not a big deal, and the roster's 12 position players are solid.

I've incorporated most of the changes mentioned above.  I'm about ready to do a roster freeze soon and call it a day...just waiting for one last thing...

If you haven't frozen the roster yet, may I suggest the Braves line-up look like this?

1. Heyward
2. BJ Upton
3. Freeman
4. J. Upton
5. Gattis
6. Uggla
7. Johnson
8. Simmons

The bench looks good. Schafer is definitely the fastest player on the team but Heyward could use a slight bump and should be faster than both the Uptons and Simmons (maybe 131?). He was hurt a lot last season but the year before he had 20+ steals and he flies around the bases.

Also maybe lower Simmons Cnt too. He only struck out 55 times in 658 plate appearances last season, the fewest on the team. Compare that to Johnson who struck out 115 times in 547 plate appearances. That is if Cnt effects that sort of thing.

I can't really argue with your pitchers. Looks pretty good with a mix of lefty and righty.

Also someone had mentioned removing Almonte from Seattle. I wouldn't do that. He's been their lead off hitter most of the year so far.

Version 1.0 was released this morning, and then 1.1 released thereafter because I had Rickie Weeks batting at 290! HAHA! Laughable.  Get it at www.rbibaseball.us...

Great work Turd!  Are you planning to make some (boxed?) carts like last year, or should I go ahead and get one made elsewhere?  The RBI 2013 cart/box was incredible.

JJ

Turd

I have a box template I'm working on. Not sure on the carts yet.
