Shooty, I'd like to get your take on both of Darky's picks at the turn.

Shooty, I'd like to get your take on both of Darky's picks at the turn.

Both are fairly terrible.  Ozzie Smith is both bad from an attributes standard and hit under .500 last season.  Speed is exponentially more important in fantasy RBI compared to regular RBI, but not that much.

For Jack Clark, I agree with Gantry that you can't rely too much on last year's stats, but holy shit he was a pile of flaming excrement.  He hit .361.  If you factored in how many double plays he hit into, it was probably more like .250.

I guess what I don't get is the combination of the two picks.  With Ozzie, it seems like Darky values the speed guys that won't get out on the basepaths.  Then he negates that with shitpile Clark.

Darky

Ozzie is a weapon. He helped the Empire win a championship. He's a run generator and always hits around .500. He was the best available SS left and his pick was a popular one with our fanbase! JClark is gonna hit bombs this year, he's done it before in other seasons, just not last season in which the talent was more condensed due to only 8 teams in the league. Last year's stats vary considerably compared to the seasons I ran with 10 teams.

Nacho

Armas fell a helluva long way. Great value there imo.

Ozzie was also a part of last season's champions: The Easy Listeners 👍

This does not seem like good logic as to why he sucked last year.

Nacho

He was playing against better competition!

GDavis

Clearly Jack Clark sucked last year because he is a true patriot and couldn't stand playing for a Canadian owned team.

Darky

haha, Shooty is still bitter about Clark's absence for him last season!

Great leadership on the field and in the clubhouse.

BeefMaster

I will continue the run on catchers by taking Rich Gedman.

Nacho

Shit, wanted Gedman.

I'll take Rupert Jones.

Gantry

Gantry

Trust me on this, always bat Ruppert Jones 6th.  Just do it and thank me later.

Nacho

Gantry, is it fair to say that you like my team best?

Nacho

I really hope that Darky drafts a druggie so that he can have a tandem labeled "Jack and coke."
