Schedule updated in the opening post, along with all the rules.

The reboot happens tomorrow, so take a look at your lineups. Also, the quality of the recordings is much better now that I just record from the windows thing on the Virtual NES - so no more cameras and clicking noises and bad quality. I'll try and speed up the schedule so the season goes faster. 18-game schedule and everybody plays each other twice - no divisions.

Shooty

Thanks for doing this Darky.

This may be the only baseball we get to watch all year.

No worries man! I'll have a better conscience now that we'll finally kick off the first Arcade league and get it done ✅

Then we'll jump right in the Super league.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

You need to have a discussion with your 3rd base coach! Last out at home by a mile and killed a comeback rally, c'mon man!

Every single break, and there were a lot of them, went in Ultimate's favor every.single.time. Frustrating to watch, but we made it close despite all the bad breaks. Oh well, it's a long season and we'll get the breaks sooner or later.

Holy Shit my offense was terrible.  That's what happens after a 15 month break I guess.

Darky

Here's the scoreboard. I'll boxscore tomorrow and record the stats with maybe recaps.

So Saturday is looking good for week 2!

This W.Ford is a weapon on the bump. Shooty's Expose has some sticks, so it was surprising to see them have an off game like that. M.Scott wasn't to shabby either. GDavis starting rotation looks strong unless that game was an exception. But W.Ford had been pitching really well in the Super League.

Anyways, boxscores and recaps will come tomorrow - didn't have time today. The latest week 2 happens is Sunday, but if I can get the boxscores done in time tomorrow, we'll do week 2. I'll input the player averages, homeruns, and ERA in the ROM after the 3rd or 4th week. I will keep stats and post them, so no worries. We can rush through the league without stats, but that is not fun. I want narratives built and the stats help build a good storyline!

The Empire (0-1) at Ultimate 7 (1-0)

Ultimate 7 used solid pitching and 7 homeruns to coast to a 20-15 victory over the Empire at Frisbee Stadium.

Bob Horner blasted 3 HRs and drove in 4 runners to earn player of the game - he was 4/6 at the plate. Willy Mays went 5/6 and nobody in the lineup had a bad day at the plate. Ultimate 7 's starting pitching rotation went the distance behind strong outings by P.Niekro and Catfish Hunter. The Ultimate 7's were never really threatened and when they were, they put a comfortable distance to cruise to a commanding victory.

The Empire committed 5 errors and Hank Aaron went only 1-6 on the day while Hack Wilson, the most feared hitter in the history of RBI, didn't go deep but did manage 5 hits and only 2 RBI. The Empire also shot themselves in the foot with two X outs at third base with two slow runners with a speed of 120 were hosed down trying to go from 1st to 3rd. Normally the Empire has good team speed, but this team lacks it.

Sides of Beef (1-0) at Cleveland Spiders (0-1)

With Gantry in attendance to support D.Thon, D.Thon went on to go 5/6 while blasting a 3-run shot, hammering two 2B with 4 RBI and 4 runs scored.

After the top half of the 7th inning and the Beef Masters up 18-8, the game appeared out of reach for Fighton's Spiders. However, a 7-run surge on the back of 5 HR's cut the lead 18-15 in Beef's favor. The Spiders inched closer in the 8th to cut the deficit 19-18, but the Beef Masters got a clutch insurance RBI double by Thon which led to a 3-run inning making it 22-18. The Spiders mildly threatened with one run scored in the 9th, but a rally killing putout at home plate for the final out ended the potential comeback. Mickey Cochrane foolishly tried to advance to home on a L.Grove double despite the 3rd base coach trying to emphatically hold him up.

Fighton's Cleveland Spiders outhomered the Beef Masters, 11-6, but 6 of the homeruns were solo shots. 5 players for the Spiders hit a pair of homeruns each (B.Bonds, B.Ruth, Foster, Durham, Doerr).

Beef got excellent production from all his pitchers in the 9-hole. M.Soto, Tiant, and Burdet combined to go 5/7 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI.

Swinging Dicks (0-1) at Blue Footed Boobies (1-0)

nomaaa's Blue Footed Boobies treated the home crowd to a thrilling come-from-behind win to open the season. Down 12-5 in the 6th inning, the Blue Foots top of the order quickly scored 4 runs and knocked Roger Clemons out of the game with Ryno's Swinging Dicks hanging on to a 12-9 lead. The Blue Foots tied the contest at 12 in the 8th inning with the help of a Johny Bench towering blast into the starlit sky. The Swinging Dicks scored an unearned run to give them a slim lead going into the last half of the 9th.

Lee Smith was given the ball to close out the 9th for the Swinging Dicks with a confident looking Ryno looking on in his popular vest. 4 straight hits later and no outs recorded, the game was over as the Blue Foots scored 2 runs. Frank Robinson knocked in the game winning run.

The heroes of the game was the bullpen for Blue Footed Boobies. Vida Blue, Fernandomania, and Dizzy Dean gave up 0 earned runs in their 5 innings of combined relief. Vida Blue gave up only 3 hits in his 3 innings of long relief. Fernandomania got a key strikeout and gave up only 1 hit in his inning of relief, and Dizzy Dean got Joe Dimaggio and Mark McGwire out with runners in scoring position to end the inning of solid relief.

Montreal Expose (0-1) at The Hulk Hogans (1-0)

Whitey Ford (4IP, 3H, 0R, 2K) and Mike Scott (5IP, 10H, 6R, 1K) were both outstanding from the mound as they both held Shooty's Montreal Exposé to only 13 hits, and 6 runs in 9 combined innings. GDavis' Hulk Hulgans were never trailed and weren't seriously threatened throughout the game. Shooty's offense, the highest ranked offense by power, couldn't figure out the Hulkster's tandem as they looked defensive and timid all day. The Exposé didn't cross the plate until the 6th inning. M.Mantle, Gehrig, Jacksn, and Mathws combined to only go 5/18 from the heart of the order - all with over a +900 power rating in addition to two players with a 870 power rating - the best in the league.

GDavis' Hulksters, playing at home in front of a wild sea of orange and yellow fans, opened the game up in the 7th by scoring 7 runs in which 8 straight batters hit safely by a series of singles and two doubles to top off the rally. Stan Musial led all hitters with 4RBI and had the only HR for the Hulksters.

Purple Reign (1-0) at Steely Dan's Revenge (0-1)

Nacho's Purple Reign put on a hitting display sparked by Dave Winfield to plow over Tempo's Steely Dan's Revenge, 29-18.

Dave Winfield drove in 8 runners on 5 hits (2HR, 2 2B, 1B) and it was his 4th inning HR that changed the lead and the momentum. Down 10-9 in the 4th, Winfield blasted a 3-run shot to give the Purple Reign a 12-9 lead as well as the momentum as the Purple Reign tallied 8 runs. Mr. May also added a 2-run HR in the 5th to give the Purple Reign a 16-10 lead during a 5-run rally. Steely Dans Revenge did hit well enough with 19 runs scored, but they never got a big inning down the stretch and just couldn't keep up with the Purple Reign's firepower.

Nah, even if he would have had a more productive day, your guys would have made up for that in the last half of the 9th - your team didn't need to bat in the bottom of the 9th.

Anyways, as promised, Week 2 takes place tonight 4pm Dee Nee time and 11pm my time. Here is the schedule:
