The throw from left centre that rolled past the catcher?  Or something else?

Shooty

The Expose really capitalized on those two-out errors by Steely Dan.  10 runs in total.

The throw came in from a completely different angle and it was such an angle I have never seen before. I will take another look when I score the games ... maybe I was seeing things.

haha, holy shit what game changers! I didn't think your Expose would win since the Steely Dans kept going in front all game, but then that HUGE inning on those errors and missing an easy out by throwing the ball around too much after a tag situation at home but the catcher decided to throw to first and it was too late - ALL with 2 outs!

Dude, straight dealing. And U7's team is pretty potent.

And The Empire is back on track! Hack Wilson finally started to hit bombs, but they came after 3 straight hitless at-bats. The dude is an oddball and not much of a team guy. If he can do his thing with his 10 contact and 975 power, he can be as odd as he wants if he puts up numbers.

Anyways, I'll begin scoring in a while and hopefully will have all the games done late tonight. If that happens, we on for week 3 tomorrow.

Here is the league site and I may start to juice it with league news and team news eventually: https://www.recleague.net/leagues/fantasyrbiarcade

Yeah, it was in your game about the odd throwing error which came in at an unusual and rare angle from the left-center gap.

Montreal Exposé (1-1) at Steely Dan's Revenge (0-2)

With 2 outs, Tony Perez and Ernie Banks committed devastating errors in the 8th and 9th innings and opening the door for 10 runs for the Exposé. Down 13-12 with 2 outs in the top half of the 8th, a hungover Mickey Mantle hit a routine shallow flyball that Tony Perez camped under. Perez bobbled the ball allowing H.Groh to score from third base and 4 hits later with 5 unearned runs tallied, the Exposé seized the momentum with a 17-13 lead.

In the top of the 9th and the Exposé up 17-14, Shooty's team blew the game wide open courtesy of a Ernie Banks error with 2 outs. That lead to a Gene Tenace Grand Slam and by the time the smoke cleared, the Exposé were in control and took a 24-14 lead into the bottom of the 9th. Carl Hubbel pitched the last two innings in relief and held down Tempo's Steely Dans without a mounted threat with a final score of 24-16 and the Exposé first win of the Arcade season.

Mickey Mantle was the player of the game by going 5/6, 3 towering homeruns, 1 double, and 4 RBI. A striking fact was that the Montreal Exposé outscored the Steely Dans 15-3 in the last three innings and after Tony Perez's error, the look in the Steely Dan's dugout was one of dismal defeat and the energy deflated by the Steely Dan's batters.

Much like the group they are named after, Steely Dan's Revenge weren't very good.

U7 (1-1) at Blue Footed Boobies (2-0)

Vida Blue was spectacular and dominant in his complete game to lead the Blue Footed Boobies to a 17-7 victory over the U7 and to an impressive 2-0 start in the FRBI Arcade league.

Vida Blue didn't give up a run until the 4th inning and only surrendered 14 hits and 6 earned runs. From the plate, he added 2 hits, one of which a 3B, and two runs scored.

With the Blue Foots leading 5-2 in the bottom of the 4th, a 7-run rally essentially put the game away with a 11-2 Blue Footed Boobies lead and considering the zone Vida Blue was in.

The Empire (1-1) at Cleveland Spiders (0-2)

The Empire jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the 1st inning and coasted the rest of the way for Darkside's first ever victory in the Fantasy RBI Arcade league.

Fightonusc's Spiders made somewhat of a threat in the bottom of the 5th by tightening the score 10-6, but the Empire scored a fury of runs led by Captain Donny Baseball (4/7, HR, 2 2B, 4 RBI) who drilled a 3-run shot to highlight a 7-run rally. A 17-6 lead was more than enough for Ron Guidry who went the distance in a solid outing. Guidry helped his cause with a 5/6 performance and 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. And the highest ranked hitter, Hack Wilson, finally showed the Arcade world a glimpse of his awe inspiring power and potential by blasting a pair of shoots, one of which left the universe.

The lone highlight for the Cleveland Spiders was Bobby Bonds 3 HR's. Fighton's Spiders 5-6-7 part of the lineup only went 3/14 with 1 RBI and 1 R scored while the Empire went 9/19 with 2HR's and 7 RBI from the same part of the lineup.

Swinging Dicks (1-1) at The Hulk Hogans (1-1)

Up until the 8th inning, the Hulkamania fans at Hulkster Stadium were treated with a pitching duel between both the Swinging Dicks and the Hulk Hogans.

The Hulksters took a 7-5 into the 8th inning and turned the ball over to the bullpen. Todd Worrell was roughed up for 3 runs off four hits and a Jack Clark 2-run HR to give the Dicks a 8-7 edge going in the bottom half of the 8th.

The Hulk Hogans then answered with two pinch hit homeruns from Kevin Bass and Jose Cruz off Bill Sutton to put the Hulksters in front 10-8. Dave Righetti took the mound to close the door shut, but the resilient Swinging Dicks led by Ryno, kicked down the door and scored 5 frantic runs to go up 13-10. Ryno gave the ball to Lee Smith to capture a victory, and Lee Smith pitched just good enough as he limited the Hulksters to 2 runs off a Fred Lynn 2-run shot.

Jack Clark's 4/6, 2 HR, 1 2B, and 6 RBI performance earned him player of the game. Lou Brock displayed his ability to put the ball in play and use his blazing speed with his 2 clutch triples, one of which was a 2-run triple to tie the game in the 9th inning.

For the Hulk Hogans, they were only limited to a paltry 16 hits, but Mike Scott pitched brilliantly (4IP, 7H, 1R, 1K) and Whitey Ford only gave up 4 runs in his 3 innings of long relief. The bullpens were the difference today in front of a raucous Hulkamaniac crowd, and Ryno's Swinging Dicks was just good enough to be the better bullpen.

I think pitchers are something like 10/11 against me this season. Woof.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Sides of Beef (2-0) at Purple Reign (1-1)

The Sides of Beef narrowly edged the Purple Reign, 20-19, in a back-and-forth fight at Prince Stadium.

Leading 17-15 going into the top of the 8th, Nacho turned to his bullpen to carry the Purple Reign to victory. Cy Young came in for short relief and on his first pitch, Dickie Thon got a hold of a mistake pitch for a homerun to leadoff the inning. After a Steve Garvey comebacker out, Vince Coleman smacked a double setting up Dan Drissen to tie the game.

Drissen turned on an inside fastball off Cy Young and deposited the ball just over the RF fence for the go-ahead run with the Sides of Beef leading 18-17. Joe Torre went on to hit a double followed by a Dwayne Murphy homerun giving the BeefMasters a 20-15 lead going into the bottom of the 8th.

Lew Burdette took the bump in the bottom of the 8th and limited the Purple Reign to 2 runs with the score tightening 20-19 for the BeefMasters. Bruce Sutter pitched a scoreless top half of the 9th for the Purple Reign. In the bottom half of the 9th, Don Gullet, who was a member of four consecutive World Series champions (Reds/Yankees), displayed his championship DNA by picking up a save with the tying run on second with 1 out - he got Willie Davis and Bruce Sutter on consecutive outs to finish the game.

For the Sides of Beef, Davey Lopes, Dave Kingman, and Dwayne Murphy all hit a pair of homeruns with Lopes leading the team with 4 runs batted in. Don Gullet picked up Player Of The Game with his clutch save.

Joe Adcock led the Purple Reign with 2 towering homeruns and 7 RBI. Jose Canseco hit safely 5 times with a homerun and Roy Campanella contributed with a pair of shots, 5 hits, and 4 RBI.

Sides of Beef (3-0) at Steely Dan's Revenge (0-3)

The Sides of Beef are now the lone undefeated team in the FRBI Arcade league after blowing out and mercy-ruling the winless Steely Dan's Revenge, 26-13 in 8 innings.

Dave Kingman and Dwayne Murphy combined to go 10/12 with 7 HR's and 14 RBI. The 3-hole and 4-hole sluggers of the league's #1 offense went back-to-back two separate times in the 5th and 8th innings. Catcher Bill Terry, and his 795 power rating/6 contact rating went deep twice and drove in 4 runs. Luis Tiant pitched all 8 innings and avoided big innings with a solid outing.

As for Tempo's winless and last place Steely Dans, reports coming out of social media reveal there may be an off-field distraction. A woman dubbed as "Catholic Girl" hasn't shown up to a single home game with the alleged tickets left for her by Tempo. Rumors are swirling that there may be some type of conflict between Tempo and Catholic Girl which has shook up the organization.

Blue Footed Boobies (2-1) at Cleveland Spiders (1-2)

In a low scoring Fantasy Arcade contest, the Cleveland Spiders dramatically captured their first league win in a 12-10 nail biter.

With the score tied up at 7 in the bottom of the 8th and two outs with a runner on second base, Bobby Bonds jumped on the first pitch from Fernando Valenzuela and drilled the ball just over the LF fence for the go-ahead run. Joe Morgan than laced a triple that was followed by a McCovy RBI single. Babe Ruth (5/5, 3 HR, 5 RBI) then followed with a 2-run line drive laser into the RF cheap seats to give Fighton's Spiders a 12-7 lead heading into the top of the 9th.

In the top of the 8th, JR Richard relieved John Tudor and was faced with runners on first and second base with one out. Richard turned up the heat and got Frank Robinson to lineout and then struck out Johnny Bench who had homered three times earlier. Lefty Grove held the fort for the Spiders in the 9th and picked up the win.

The starting pitchers for both teams were spectacular.

Nomaaa's Blue Footed Boobies picked up their first defeat despite the dominant pitching from the starting pitchers.
