Empire take 2-0 series lead behind solid team effort.

Game 1, U7 score 10 runs in the top of the first to jump out to 10-0 quick lead, The Empire slowly cut into the lead, eventually take a 19-17 lead after the 5th. The lead exchanged until it was even at 21 in the 9th. With 2 outs, team captain D.Mattingly hit a double, Hack Wilson then completes his impressive hitting night (6/7, 5 2B, HR, 5 R) with a walk-off double to end the game. Hank Aarron blasts 3 homeruns and registers 7 RBI, Alvin Dark comes up big from the 7-hole with 3 doubles and a triple while Brock contributed with 3 doubles and 4 RBI from the 8-hole.

U7 rocked Guidry for 17 runs in the first four innings, then are limited by Drysdale and the bullpen for only 4 runs.

Game 2 saw the Empire take a 11-3 lead behind Drysdale and Guidry's gem into the 9th. U7 put on a frantic comeback rally to narrow the ballgame 11-9, Gossage then comes in to slam the door shut. Empire now take a 2-0 series lead as the series heads to Ultimate Chicago Park, home of Ultimate 7 for games 3, 4, and 5 if necessary.

3 good games out of 4 yesterday, now bad amigos! Nomaaa lost a heartbreaker in game 2. GDavis' team is pretty tough and they have heart. Nomaaa's team has some heart too and if not for a 2-out Righetti triple, the series could be tied at 1.

As far as my team and Ultimate's, I thought we were about to get mercy ruled in the first game after Guidry got rocked for 10. But this Empire team is damn resilient with a bunch of ballers. We came back and finally won a 1-run game - first of the year. Hack Wilson and Hank Aarron showed up big finally and at the right time. Took them all season to play up to their potential, but man, if they are gonna be hot for the remainder of the playoffs, we are going to be tough to beat. Drysdale is showing solid form and now I feel better about taking him so early in the arcade and SuperNes draft because of my scouting sim reports on him. Also, my unsung heroes continue to take turns to be heroes and get the hits when we need them. Jody Davis came up big again as well as Al Dark. And Brock had 3 hits in game 1. But hey, game 1 could have went either way and the series could be tied at 1.

Okay, hopefully some of you have nothing else to do and decide to tune in today's games 3 and 4. My son tuned in and even joined in on the chat. He remembers the Empire from when he was a kid from 2009 and 2010 - 2009 was the last time we won it all. Then I have a cool follower on YouTube who gave some kind compliments on YT. Cool to get any kind of recognition for these games from non dee nee members. I get there won't be a huge following or that I'll make a chunk of change on YT or Twitch with a nintendo game from 1988, but feels good to see anything outside of dee nee.

Empire earn a FRBI World Series ticket by routing U7 in games 3 and 4. Empire outscored U7 37-13 in games 3 & 4 for the sweep. Hack Wilson named series MVP with .810 avg (17/21), 8 HR, 6 doubles, and 17 RBI. Empire pitching staff, led by Drysdale, post 12.30 ERA in the four games, tops in the playoffs. Empire also tops in the playoffs with a .548 average. Hank Aarron also impressive in the 4-game sweep with 6 HR, 13 RBI, and .684 average. Lou Brock, traded from the Swinging Dicks before the trading deadline, contributed big from the 8-hole by hitting .588, 6 doubles, 1 triple, and 11 runs scored - good for second on the team. The Empire will be making their 3rd appearance in the FRBI World Series. They are 1-1 in the WS - lost to GDavis in 2007, beat Nacho/MikeD in 2009.

Ultimate 7's bats simply didn't show up, and Phil Niekro wasn't in top form and unable to figure out the Empire hitters. A preseason favorite to make the finals, U7 simply were just outplayed. Despite the quick exit, U7 enjoyed a successful season and putting Ultimate's program on the map.

Mike Scott and Whitey Ford pitch combined gem, limit Blue Foots to 9 runs. Hulk Hogans break game wide open down the stretch, turn 5-2 game into 16-6 victory, outscoring the Blue Foots 11-4 in the final three innings. Fox hit 4 doubles and the top of the lineup came through with 9 RBI, all coming on 2 outs. Hulksters get solid production from the 8-9 hole, extending innings and contributing big.

In the face of a sweep in game 4, the Blue Foot Boobies came out with an unrestrained fury that had been missing in the series as they exploded for 16 runs in two innings (13 in the 1st inning) for the swift mercy rule victory over the Hulksters. JBench broke out of his slump with 2 HR and 7 RBI. Vida Blue had outstanding command and prevented the Hulksters from their usual quick starts. Blue Foot Boobies avoid the sweep and will face off against the Hulksters in game 5, 2pm Dee Nee time. If necessary, games 6 and 7 will directly follow each other today, so we will see a series winner today.

Mysteriously, nomaaaa was absent for game 4. While at home and thinking his season was done, nomaaa was notified that it is a 7-game series and that he may want to check the score of game 4.

I fixed the times since I made a mistake with the time. We'll see if nomaaa can pull off the huge upset and win three in a row ... or if GDavis continues to roll.

The Arcade World Series will take place on Friday and Saturday. Times will be announced tomorrow. Games 1-4 will happen on Friday, and the remainder of the series will conclude on Saturday.

You guys had a good run nomaaa! Your guys didn't give up and took it to game 6 after being down 0-3 in the series. Congrats to GDavis and his Hulksters, they showed why they had the best record in the league. So the FRBI Arcade World Series will be The Empire vs Hulk Hogans in a 7-game series that will be decided on Friday and Saturday.

GDavis, I assume you want to be the home team and of course M.Scott as your starter. YouTube videos coming shortly and perhaps the boxscores.

Hulk Hogans lose game 5 in nail biter, runaway from Blue Foots in game 6 to earn a spot into the first ever FRBI Arcade World Series.

Down 16-11 in game 5 and facing elimination in the bottom of the 8th, the Blue Foot Boobies rallied for 5 runs to tie the game at 16. Dizzy Dean pitched a scoreless 9th by shutting down the Hulksters top of the lineup. In the bottom half of the 9th and with Righetti trying to extend the game into extra innings, Frank Robinson drilled a line drive into the right-center gap for a triple. Johny Bench then stepped up and delivered a game winning single to take the series to game 6.

In game 6, the Blue Foot Boobies relinquished a 9-6 lead in the bottom of the 5th as the Hulksters scored 4 runs to go up 10-9. From there, the Hulksters cruised by outscoring the Blue Foots 5-1. Mike Scott picked up his third win of the series and Worrel was outstanding in preventing any kind of last gasp Blue Foot threat.

Mike Scott was named series MVP and the Hulksters pitching proved to be too much for the Blue Foot hitters. Not one Blue Foot hitter hit over .600 during the series while the Hulksters had 3 players over .600 and also got key and consistent production from their 7-8 hole.

GDavis and his Hulk Hogans will now have home field advantage against The Empire in a 7 game series for the Arcade World Series. This will be the second meeting in the FRBI World Series between Darkside's Empire and GDavis - GDavis beat the Empire in 5 games in 2007 (FRBI WS IV) - https://forums.dee-nee.com/index.php?topic=18293.100
