Here is the schedule.  Each team has 1 week to play a THREE game series against the team they are matched up against for the given week.  For each game, please keep track of 1. Score, 2. Innings played, and 3.  who hit homeruns and how many.
Please Private message me these 3 stats and I will start a thread which will keep a running total of records/stats.
Top 4 teams will make the playoffs (based on record) after week 7.  Tie Breakers are 1.  Head to Head record.  2.  Fewest total innings played in victories, 3.  Most Team Runs, and 4.  a 1 game tie breaker. (2 - 4 would only be needed if there is more than a 2 team tie)
First round will be 1 vs 4, and 2 vs 3 in a five game series.  Finals will be a 7 game series.

why are innings played so important?

also, why are they number 2 in tie breakers?

just curious.

i'm thinking that innings played is relative to whether or not you got your ass kicked or did the ass kicking.

You are right.  Meant to say Innings played in games won. (if you lose, you automatically will get 9 innings for this statistic)  You will not get credit for being slaughtered in the first inning.

I have updated my original post with this edit.

If you lose, you shouldn't get any innings for that statistic, since it's only for games won, correct?

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

It may be a tiebreaker for least innings played, in which case you want to assign 9 to it (loss or full game), unless you won in less than 9 innings (lowest number is best).

It really doesn't matter what way you look at it. (ie don't count it at all or just assign nine innings for losses).  Since it will only get to this tie breaker if teams in question have the same number of wins.  For the purposes of remaining consistent, we will only average #innings in victories.  #of innings in losses will not be figured into the equation.

Edited original post.

tie breakers should be decided by penis length.

this would be my only hope in getting into the post season.

I'm hung like a freakin' horse.

Noah may have the upper hand on this one.  Have you seen his players on the ROM??!

What makes you think I'm not black (don't look at the dee nee picture thread)?

Stock

I'm only black from the waist down. ;D
Actually, I have some bohemian in me.  I was told that bohemians are considered black.  I don't know though.

What about home and away (Player 1/2) selection?  I assume the first two games of a series are split - each team will get to play a game at home and then away.  But how is the third game decided?  By tie-breakers or something else?

If we don't do tie-breakers, one option would be to build it into the schedule...with home/away teams.  The home team would get two games at home.  But if you do that some teams will only get 4 home series (11 home games), while others will get 3 home series (10 home games).  Not much of a difference, if you ask me.

I'm just throwing out options...

Good point.  I figured the 2 players could figure this out when they are playing.
Is there a way to flip a coin online? ;D

Maybe, split the first 2 games, and then whatever team scored the most runs in the 2 games gets the choice for the last game.
I realize there is a lot of pride on the line, but no money is involved.  I think any 2 of us can figure this out while playing.

If this is too difficult, maybe we should play a 4 game series or shrink it to 2 games?

Doesn't matter to me.  I never had a strong preference to be the home team or not.

3-game series are cool.  That'll help with 2-team tie-breakers at the end of the season.

I'm cool with the idea of whoever scores the most runs in the first two games, gets choice.  But what if the run count is the same?  I'm sorry for making this difficult.

Do we then goto to the total homer count?  And if that is equal too, then I just say...whoever had the home game in the first game gets choice.  Or is that too easy?

Stock

Lets just use the similar tie breakers used for the playoffs.

1. Record
2.  fewest innings in victories
3.  Most Runs
4.  Most homeruns.
5.  The team who had home field in the first game choses.
6.  If you still can't decide, you must battle to the death in a steel cage match.

But are those first four tie-breakers only dealing with the first two games of the current series?

Lips

...meaning:
If a team is 2-0 against the current opponent, he gets choice for the final game of the series.

Otherwise, it goes to tb2, 3, ...

Is that correct?

As far as the P1/P2 thing...I very often get the Kill Mame Destroy error unless I'm P2.

So farted.

Yes, just for those 2 games.  It wouldn't be fair if the person you are playing just destroyed a weaker opponent the week before, and now it counts against you.
