Superstars or Role Players

I'd definately choose the two superstars.. in RBI Baseball, superstars can take you a long way, like hit 3 HRs each in a game, producing 7-8 runs

This is a good question, probably should be in the RBI forum, for me it really depends on what kind of average guy you are talking about.

Having 3 Eric Davis's in your lineup though is pretty tough to argue against

I went with consistency.  Yes, a couple superstars are nice since they can get that need bomb, but I think having several holes in your line-up is even worse.
This is my biggest problem w/ NY.  I would consider Herndz thru Straw to be "2-3" superstars, but they have too many holes in their line-up to make them a great team.
If I were playing against someone, I would rather only have 2-3 studs to face (or pitch around), and then not have to worry about the next 6 spots. This is much better than pitching to a team of just above average guys (say Pucket).

I agree with stock and submit Min as another example of why consistency throughout the line up is better than a few studs.  It's just too easy to pitch around the studs and make the weak hitters beat you.

This is why you have to define average.  If you are saying that Kevin Mitchell is average, yes I'd prefer a lineup of Mitchells to 3 EDs and 5 Gladdens.

Right.  And he even said "above average".  I figured Pucket fit this description pretty well since I could think of 45-50 players better than him in the game.

On a personal note, I think HoJo is better than Dykstra and Wilson, but I leave in Dykstra for his speed.  As for subbing out Wilson, Hojo has much more power (same as Brenly), and still has above average speed.  I just feel that HoJo AND Heep need to be in that order somewhere.
