RBI'er most likely to stage a comeback

I know they banned midgets after the Eddie Gaedel incident, but I've never heard anything about token appearances like you mentioned.

I don't think they'll allow a situation during the regular season where a guy plays in just 1 game.  In the early 90's the Sox were gonna try to get Minnie Minoso to play in a game so he would have played in 6 different decades, but MLB nixed it (notice his gimmick 1976 and 1980 appearance to get to 5 decades).  I think they are cracking down on it now.

It has to be Benito.  He was on a major league roster this last year and somebody will always need a catcher.  He keeps himself in great shape and seems to want to play.

I'm surprised that Will Clark wasn't an option.  He'll be 42 at the start of next year, same age Bonds will be.    Maybe LaRussa or Dusty Baker, two of his former managers, would invite him in as a hitting coach/pinch hitter.

Also, I don't really understand how MLB can prevent a team from 'gimmicking' if the team claims that having a guy like Minnie Minosa in the field does more good for the team than harm...I also haven't read the linked article.

i don't think you can consider that sarcasm so much as you can consider it "octofranco seriously overestimated the number of teams nolan pitched for"  it would be sarcasm if he pitched for like 9 teams.  that's like saying that frank thomas is a journeyman, and then attempting to label it sarcasm.

It's hyperbole, rather than sarcasm.  With Ryan's skills, and the era he played, you would have expected him to stay with the same team during his best years.  He did not, thus the "15" joke.

At this point in his career, you'd have to think Donnie Moore would be position player or DH due to his not being able to throw the ball and everything.  I guess he could be a catcher but the pitcher would have to go get the ball after he stops it.

Further research shows this to be in Lubbock County, in the northwestern part of the state.  You know you want to make a road trip.
