OK, plan on updating the pages above after each week is complete (so they are always at the top of the thread).
In the first post (Standings), will rank after each week is complete.
In the last 10 columns it will say if your team won or lost when playing against that team.
The next 2 posts will have the player stats. Couldn't get it to look exactly how I wanted but, should do fine.
The 4th post will have the team stats.
I hope to get started today some time.
Week 1 matchups
PB vs Gn
RN vs SL
SF vs JW
ON vs SW
WS vs fS
big hath is going down.
Week 1 Results:
PB vs Gn 9-19 (4); Bass, 4/4, 3 RBI
RN vs SL 24-17; Mac, 5/7, 2 HR, 7 RBI
SF vs JW 40-41; Raines, 8/9, 4 HR, 5 RBI
ON vs SW 31-21 (6); GDavis, 4/6, 2 HR, 8 RBI
WS vs fS 13-23 (6); Henderson, 4/5, 2 HR, 6 RBI
Edit: My vote for player of the week goes to Raines.
Excellent win for the Kruks. Offence cane from up and down the lineup and we mixed the long ball and small ball well.
If we are voting for player of the week, I would give it to Raines as well. That was a sick performance.
I wish we had video of the Skullfuckers-Jews game. Jews get 16 (!) home runs and still win by only one run. Amazing.
EDIT: On the stats page, Glenn Davis has 7 RBI's. Your week 1 scores show 8. Which is it? He'd be tied for the league lead with 8.

Wow...I lost 41-40. Youngblood is the worst pitcher ever.
Anyway, stock...just a quick question about how this league works.
Is it team win-loss record or combined player stats a la fantasy ball?
P.S. Good game Jew.

terry puhl will prove a worthy adversary to all of you.
Just played (actually, watched) 3 exhibition games against the faux sox and won all 3, 2 by slaughter. I feel confident that the Kruks will run their record to 2-0.

Ooops...I completely misunderstood the concept of this league...when you said you were keeping track of Hits, Home Runs, 2Bs, 3bs, RBIs, BA, and slugging for each player and team, I assumed it was like a rotiserie league where you were just competing in those categories and that wins and losses didn't matrer.
A winner is not me.

Do you steal bases? If so, what's your threshold for attempting it? The computer usually doesn't steal with anyone much slower than Ozzie, but against the computer, most attempts with guys above 130 speed will be successful, and if your pitches in this league are pretty slow, SBs become even easier.

Fixed.
Next time I am going to put a constraint on how many teams have an "S" in their abbreviated name.
fknconfusing.
Viva los Generalisimos!
Also I'm still trying to figure out why team Stock's abbreviation has a W in it.
Out of curiosity, do you ever lean into pitches to take the HBP? Thanks for the update, by the way.
Losing 29-28 sucks. Especially considering the games that Coleman and Baines (my 1/2 guys had).
But The Racktacular Nation are for real. Averging 5.78 runs per inning is 3rd in the league and only 0.08 behind the leader(s). Keep it up team.
BTW Stock. How did Matty Fatty Nokes do in game #2?

No idea about the "W". Ask Kips; it's his team.
No leaning into pitches.
Glenn Davis = MVP
13 RBI's is fucking ridiculous. Get him out of the shitty Houston lineup and watch the production.
Also noticed that Ozzie hit a homer this week as well.
Looking forward to the matchup this week.

What a fucking stud!
I didn't see (actually I didn't look) that you updated the players stats on page 1. McGwire and Nokes are #2 and 3 in HR's only behind Glenn Davis.
Dee-Nee-She-Nee-Nee!
Actually, Guererro is third (actually tied w/ Raines) in HR's. Nokes has five three, placing him in a tie for 11th. The top 10 for those interested:
GDavis 7
Big Mac 6
Raines 5
Guererro 5
Dawson 4
Heath 4
Knight 4
Baylor 4
Maldonado 4
Henderson 4
Edited for my stupid typo.

Now that I think about it, I meant to type Guerrero but with all the Nokes hoopla...shit I just want to make the playoffs and have a chance at the title!

The Poopybutts are clutch! Potatoes shows shows why he was the first pick. Rack's team lacks a leader, they spend the whole time fighting with Nokes in the dugout. A fat clubhouse cancer, the worst kind...

Actually, I looked closer because I didn't believe the 5.78 runs/inning, and it's wrong. Your innings weren't updated. Since you've played 18 innings instead of nine, your R/I average dips to 2.89, good enough for ninth in the league.

WS SL 3-13 (1); DCincs & Pucket, 2/2, HR, 3 RBI each

For Rack: Nokes, 1/1, 2B, 1 RBI (acounted for half the RBIs in the game)
Coleman extends his hitless streak to 6 ABs (currently the longest in the league).
Gwynn, Pndltn, Colemn, Baines, Mitchl, Johnsn, Burlesn, JCruz, Yngbld, Boggs, & THerr are the only 11 players w/o a home run yet.
HoJo is the only player w/o an extra base hit yet.
Player of the week is "The hChemist". 4000 slugging in 4 abs (perfect game!).
GDavis slipped a bit in week 3 only going 1/4 (however, still a home run).
Raines continues to be hot with 6 hits and 2 more homers in the leadoff spot.
Rack has arguably the best player on his team so far this year (Big Mac), batting .800 and slugging 2.267 with 17 ribbies.
The X-factor for the 1st place Generalisimos may be Blank Morris, who has quietly batted .900 in the 8-spot.
About friggin time.
Stock still kinda sucks though, although we're about to embark on a fourteen game win streak.

Not sure why it is, but play like shit with his team. Mac is averaging a home run every 2.5 ABs. The problem is, he only gets like 1-2 Abs a game.
This game was super close to a 1 inning no-hitter. Coleman/Baines started out 0-2 with line outs to the IF corners. Mac saved the no-no with a single off the LF wall.
I think the 2 biggest problems are Coleman and Baines batting 1 & 2. They are a combined .380 with only 1 homer. Mitchel is also disapointing. I would expect much more from him than .458 and 2 homers. His power factors are much better than that.
Man, the poopybutts can't get a break. Give up 32 runs in 4 innings, then lost 44-42 and 36-34...

Yeah, I don't see how Pettis at the end of the 8th was the work pick. Look how early players with similar stats were taken - fuck Mookie Wilson is the same player and he was taken a round and a half before. Ozzie Smith was taken at the beginning of the 7th.

Also, maybe we should start piling on Coleman some for being a truly horrible draft choice?

My bad.... I still expect Stock's apology about Pettis on my desk before the end of the business day...
If he has anymore multi HR games, I may have no choice.
I may have to change MO to Coleman (or nokes...)
Yes, Coleman is the official worst draft pick! He is truly brutal. I have never seen so many infield pip-ups in my life. Simply pathetic. Also, he has just enough power to hit a fast groundball so he can be thrown out, but can't even get a pop-up out of the infield.
Also, Pettis' last game, he was a single short of the cycle.
Fucking Pettis.
To add even MORE fuel to the fire, and assuming the stats are correct, Dave Bergman (Rack's current 9 hitter) has only one home run, good enough for second to last in the league.
Seriously, how in the world did he beat Slim?
How the fuck is the Burly Sac hitting over .820?

Seems that the rest of Rack's team (other than 1-2) is good enough to win games. Coleman/Baines went 9/14 with 2 tripples against Slim. Unfortunately for most games this year, you get a gauranteed 0-spot every time through the lineup, when you have bergmn, coleman, baines w/ consecutive abs.
I think his line-up will be much stronger when Baines gets dropped in the order.
How did my team have the best hitting ranking yet I am 9th in SLG? Stock, you better step it up.
The Racktacular Nation gets its second win in a row. Keep it up Stock. Show all these non-believing mofo's that the Racktacular Nation is for real!
Secondly, in defense of:
1) Baines hitting #2, I was hoping that Coleman would get on more giving Baines the lefty hit which would improve on his play and make him more likely to get a hit in which MAC could come up and clear the bases with a HR. But if Coleman isn't getting on then Baines sucks at the #2 hole.
2) Coleman not getting on base is a skill. Some have it, some don't... Oh and I recall 2-4 other teams say that they thought Coleman would slip to them and that they wanted Coleman.
So try to hit the ball to the gap between 3rd and SS and Coleman is on base every time. Not sure why he is hitting so low v.s. the PC. Makes no sense other than he keeps popping up which he shouldn't do.
Either way just keep winning!
How the fuck does Santiago have a higher SLG than potatoes?
Everyone should do a review of there team so far. Here's a quick synopsis of the SkullFuckers:
Franco: 0.553 AVG, 4 HR: about what I expected and his 4 HRs are a nice plus for a guy with a power rating in the low 740's.
Wilfng: 0.591 AVG, 5 HR: OK
Leonard: 0.644 AVG, 9 HR: nice production from the fourth round pick
Bell: 0.698, 8 HR: disappointed with this #1 pick's lack of power.
EDavis: 0.634 AVG, 5 HR: disappointing. SLG is lower than Wilfong's and he's not showing his power (5HR) or speed (no triples)
DwEvans: 0.690 AVG, 12 HR: MVP of the SkullFuckers. No complaints
Gedman: 0.564 AVG, 6 HR: surprising as Gedman is killing the ball in fighton's Fantasy league. Since his average is lower here, I can only draw the conclusion that Stock < Computer
Grich: 0.700 AVG, 6 HR: wicked. Makes me rethink my Grich-benching strategy in RBI alltogether.
Youngblood: 0.650 AVG, 4 HR: good production from the 9th pick. However, he is a horrible pitcher.
Sure, why not? It gives me another opportunity to rail my team for their performance:
Smith: .500/2/13: Would like to see a slightly higher average, but he is still getting on base fairly well, and the two homers have actually been good so far.
Gaetti: .622/7/23: Not as good as I hoped, I would like to see more power from the Gar.
Dawson: .750/16/37: Simply solid, anything less from the Hawk would be a major disappointment.
Brookens: .727/8/21: Solid in the clean up spot, but like Gaetti, a few more HR's would be nice.
GDavis: .659/10/28: Has cooled off quite a bit from his torrid start, but is still meeting expectations.
Whitaker: .683/7/22: Solid, no complaints here.
Brenly: .683/5/17: Excellent average for the seven spot, with some power
Reynolds: .500/4/12: Ouch. Less slugging than even Ozzie, and he's hitting behind Brenly, with his oodles of doubles. What a bust.
Gagne: .744/9/31: Where the fuck did this come from? Far surpassed my 9th round expectations, second on the team in production only to Dawson.

Dawson might win the triple crown. Awesome.
This league has parity up the whazoo.
My team has to be the most un-clutch in the league. At 8-6, we're poised to make a run at first place, only to drop the next two (including our second to the Royals Racktacular Nation).
The Racktacular Nation is only 1 game behind 3rd place. Keep it up Stock!

Will the Poopybutts and Slim keep their 5.00+ Runs Per Inning? I equate this to .400 AVG...
Julio Franco is 6-1 as my new pitcher.
My team is getting cold Stock. On a 2 game winning streak, I was on fire. I am scared that it won't translate into a "W" in the next outing due to the long layoff.
It's been a long busy week for me, and I have a wedding I have to travel to this weekend.
I am 3 games away from completing week 17.
Hope to get these in before this weekend.

Buckner baby!
I've yet to have a player win player of the week, and this week, in a 35 run effort, didn't even have a "other notable"
But that's alright, the Brooklyn Dodgers were never much for individual accolades either (other than MVP, Gold Gloves, and Cy Young awards).

49% of the league has not hit a triple yet.
MID SEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
There is no way you can argue against DAWSON. He is leading the league in HR, RBI, Avg, and Slugging%
Baylor and McGwir are also top candidates, but Dawson's performance thus far has just been sick!
MID SEASON CRAP of the YEAR:
I am going to give this honor to Baines.
He is the only player on every one of the "Season Laggers" lists above.
Coleman is right up there as well. It's amazing Rack isn't in last place with both of these losers.
Further mid-season analysis:
Keep in mind, that these are open for debate.
First of all, I created a relativity for "BA", "Slugging", and "HR/AB" based on the league's weighted average (using ABs).
I then multiplied the 3 factors and sqrt'd them to come up with a performance factor.
Here are the top/bottom performers (in order) based on this factor:
Dawson Colman
McGwir OSmith
Baylor Puhl
Gibson Baines
DaEvns Lopes
Cansco Bush
Hrbek Dykstr
DwEvns Pettis
Leonrd J.Cruz
Mldndo Teufel
Brookn Gwynn
Jacksn Boggs
WClark Pndltn
Hendrk Rynlds
Strwby Kruk
Schmdt Schfld
J.Rice Burlsn
Heath Boone
Murphy Franco
Gedman Wilson
Further more, I used this factor and compared it to where they were drafted to get an idea of those that are performing better/worse than expected based on their draft order. In other words, this shows which players were good and bad draft picks (in order).
Note: The respective percentages show:
1. How many players drafted ahead of them they are outperforming.
2. How many players drafted under them they are out performing.
(For example, Baylor has outperformed 75% of those picked above him and every player drafted after him. This makes him a very good pick-up given his draft#)

If any team manager would like any other info regarding the first half of there season to help them figure out a better line-up, please let me know.
Something must be wrong with your analysis. It states that Nokes is only the fourth worst pick instead of the worst.
Apart from that error, excellent work Stock.
Three thoughts:
1) The longest game this week was a marathon four innings.
2) Dawson = MVP!
3) I'd like to keep my line-up the same. Thanks.
I would like to change my first overall pick to Dawson, thanks!
I would like you to get better hitting with Coleman, thanks!

Yeah, Pndletn and KBass actually hit both of theirs in the same inning.
Pendleton actually had a chance to hit 2 in the same inning, but flew out to the wall.

It was a walk-off 2-run HR by DaEvns which followed a Bruno double. This was probably the most fun of a game I played this whole season so far. It felt like there was a lead change every inning.

Reminder:
We are 3/4 way through the season. Only 9 games left per team.
Please get me any line-up changes you may have.
The seeding will be important!
Just a reminder of how the playoffs will work.
The top eight teams will advance to the playoffs.
The playoffs will consist of all best-of-3 series matchups.
Double elimination (ie.. you can lose 1 series and still come back to win).
Better seed will get homefield advantage throughout.
just letting you know i plan on making a lineup change, just don't have the time right now. later tonight or tomorrow.
I'm torn on my lineup.
One the one hand, we stink.
On the other hand, the last time we went through this set of games (games 10-18) we went 7-2 with this exact lineup.
Decisions, decisions....

Week 30 matchups:

...and with this week's games, the Racktacular Nation is mathematically eliminated from winning first place in the league.
(Geek note: The best Rack can do, seven games behind Gn and SL with seven to play, is tie at 18-18...but Gn and SL still play a game, meaning one of them will get at least 19 wins. This is of course throwing out the complicated scenarios involving the other 7 teams in the league.)

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dawson
With 6 games to go, it looks like the top 4 are pretty safe as far as making it to the tournament.
Rack looks to be the obvious pick to NOT make the tourney as he has a 3 game lead on last place.
5 Teams are tied with the second worst record in the league.
(Tiebreakers are 1) head-to-head, 2) runs per inning, and 3) an unlikely one game playoff.

Yes, and with that you brought your season average of runs/inning up to a blistering 3.62. Why do such bad things happen to such great teams??
RackNation has been swept by 2 different teams already.
Matt Noke's arrogance has killed Rack's clubhouse chemistry, that's why they lose the close games
I demand a new draft with a different operator. Preferably someone that knows how to use Vince Coleman.

Season 2 will be with the 19th century ROM that some of the guys played at dee-nee fest.
Not sure that anyone will have a good excuse for a crappy team then.

Looks like Ractacular Nation is officially knocked out. Best case scenario for RN, is Stock and One-Nut Kruks lose their next 2 games, and RN wins out. In this case RN would take 9th place as Stock would win the head-to-head tie breaker.
You can't blame Nokes for failing to make a late run though. Despite going only 2-2 RN's last 4 games, Nokes was 20/24 with 6HR, 2 2B and 14 RBI.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Johnson
1 Week to go!
Slim is gauranteed the #1 seed in the tourney.
The Generalisimos will have the #2 seed.
The last week will determine the reamining seeds.
The One-Nut Kruks will win the second tie-breaker over SW, so all they need is a win and they will get the final seed in the tourney. Stock needs a win and a ON loss.
Although, Racktacular Nation is out, his team will have a chance to play spoiler in week 36 against Stock.
Week 36 matchups (THE FINAL WEEK OF THE REGULAR SEASON!)
WS vs ON - ON advances to the tourney with a win
JW vs SL - JW will get the #3 seed with a win
SF vs PB - SF gauranteed a 3 or 4 seed with a win
fS vs Gn
RN vs SW - SW needs this win for a chance at making the tourney.
