Buckner baby!

I've yet to have a player win player of the week, and this week, in a 35 run effort, didn't even have a "other notable"

But that's alright, the Brooklyn Dodgers were never much for individual accolades either (other than MVP, Gold Gloves, and Cy Young awards).

I must have jinxed him as he let up 45 runs in 4 innings.  Pathetic.

MID SEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
There is no way you can argue against DAWSON.  He is leading the league in HR, RBI, Avg, and Slugging%
Baylor and McGwir are also top candidates, but Dawson's performance thus far has just been sick!

MID SEASON CRAP of the YEAR:
I am going to give this honor to Baines.
He is the only player on every one of the "Season Laggers" lists above.
Coleman is right up there as well.  It's amazing Rack isn't in last place with both of these losers.

Further mid-season analysis:

Keep in mind, that these are open for debate.
First of all, I created a relativity for "BA", "Slugging", and "HR/AB" based on the league's weighted average (using ABs).
I then multiplied the 3 factors and sqrt'd them to come up with a performance factor.

Here are the top/bottom performers (in order) based on this factor:

Dawson      Colman
McGwir      OSmith
Baylor      Puhl
Gibson      Baines
DaEvns      Lopes
Cansco      Bush
Hrbek      Dykstr
DwEvns      Pettis
Leonrd      J.Cruz
Mldndo      Teufel
Brookn      Gwynn
Jacksn      Boggs
WClark      Pndltn
Hendrk      Rynlds
Strwby      Kruk
Schmdt      Schfld
J.Rice      Burlsn
Heath      Boone
Murphy      Franco
Gedman      Wilson

Further more, I used this factor and compared it to where they were drafted to get an idea of those that are performing better/worse than expected based on their draft order.  In other words, this shows which players were good and bad draft picks (in order).

Note: The respective percentages show:
1.  How many players drafted ahead of them they are outperforming.
2.  How many players drafted under them they are out performing.
(For example, Baylor has outperformed 75% of those picked above him and every player drafted after him.  This makes him a very good pick-up given his draft#)

Something must be wrong with your analysis.  It states that Nokes is only the fourth worst pick instead of the worst.

Apart from that error, excellent work Stock.

WeatherMatt

Three thoughts:

1) The longest game this week was a marathon four innings.

2) Dawson = MVP!

3) I'd like to keep my line-up the same. Thanks.

Gantry

I would like to change my first overall pick to Dawson, thanks!

Mr. Blubbo

I would like you to get better hitting with Coleman, thanks!
