Game 2 was a World Series classic.  Cal pulled out to an 11-6 lead after 4, but Detroit clawed back thanks to Chet Lemon's hitting and took an 18-15 lead to the 9th.  Cal got 4 in the top of the 9th from a 2 run PH HR by George Hendrick and a 2 out 2 run double by Reggie.  Det tied it in the 9th thanks to a solo shot by Evans.  A scoreless 10th was followed by a 2 out solo shot from Joyner in the 11th and Donnie Moore forced Larry Herndon to ground out with the tying run on 1st in the bottom of the 11th to hold on for a 21-20 win sending the Tiger fans home shocked.  Wally Joyner had 3 HRs and 5 RBIs, for Cal while Darrell Evans had 3 HRs and 5 RBIs and Chet Lemon had 2 HRs and 7 RBIs in a losing cause.

The California Angels have complete the sweep of the Detroit Tigers to win the World Series.  Despite blowing leads of 5-1 and 14-9, Brian Downing earned series Co-MVP by hitting a walk off HR in the bottom of the 9th to complete the 3 game sweep.  He hit 5 HRs and had 11 RBIs in the series.  Donnie Moore feels vindicated winning co-MVP by getting the wins in games 2 and 3 allowing just 2 runs in 4 innings to the league's best offense.  Chet Lemon hit 2 more HRs in the loss finishing the series with 4 HRs and 12 RBIs.
