Minn 12 Cal 2 (4 inn)
Bad day for Cali, Witt didn't have anything and their offense managed just 4 hits in 4 innings

Det 10 Bos 0 (2 inn)
Well it was worse for Boston as they managed just 2 hits in 2 innings

AL 16 NY 15 (11 inn)
Julio Franco hit a walkoff solo shot to lead off the bottom of the 11th, scoring the only run in extra innings.  AL had taken their first lead in the 7th, to go up 9-8.  Both teams got 6 in the 8th.  Mookie Wilson, an offensive star in this game for NY had an RBI double in the top of the 9th to tie it.  4 of the last 10 NY games have ended in a 16-15 score with NY splitting the 4, including a win in their last game against AL.

Hou 9 SF 3
Hou got 3 in the first an Nolan Ryan was dominant in a complete game performance

NL 11 Stl 10
Jim Lindeman hit a 2 out 2 run homer in the top of the 9th to give STL their first lead since the 4th inning.  But Galaragga singled home Schmidt after Schmidt had driven in Davis and advanced to 3rd on a costly throwing error.  Davis had 2 HRs and at least 5 RBIs

Cal 11 NY 6
Cal built a 10-1 lead after 5 and held on as Witt pitched a complete game.

Bos 18 Minn 8
Buckner hit for the cycle and Clemens pitched a complete game as Bos dominated this one.

Det 18  NL 10
Scoreless thru 4, Det got 2 unearned runs in the 5th when Mike Schmidt snag a line-drive and then inexplicably threw the ball to the side wall past 3rd.  But then Det got 7 earned runs in the 6th and put it away with 7 more in the 9th.

AL 13  Hou 3 (8 inn)
Hou got only 9 hits in 8 innings and didn't score after the 3rd inning.

Stl 17  SF 16 10 inn
Todd Worrel and Don Robinson each helped themselves out with clutch hits, but it was Worrel's 10th inning RBI double that proved to be the difference as SF could only manage 1 run in the bottom of the 10th.

When the season ends and there's three teams tied for 3rd place, are you going to have one game playoffs to break the tie, base it on run differential, or go by regular season head-to-head matchups?

Tie Breaker will determine spots head-to-head, then differential

Cal 20 Hou 10
Gary Pettis hit a 5th inning Grand Slam to open up a 10-5 lead for the Angels and the Astros never recovered

NY 16 Bos 15
Boston scored 8 in the first and had leads of 11-1 in the 3rd and 15-7 in the 5th.  But the Mets fought back and tied it 15-15 in the bottom of the 8th on a PH HR from Danny Heep and Keith Hernandez hit a walf off with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th.

Det 27 Minn 21
There were 17 HRs in this game.  Minn led 16-10 after 4 before Detroit realized they didn't have to throw every pitch down the middle.  The game remained close until Detroit scored 8 in the 8th and 4 in the 9th for their 11th straight win.

AL 10 Stl 9 (10 inn)
George Bell hit a walk off to lead off the bottom of the 10th

NL 17 SF 14
SF scored 9 in the 7th to take a 12-8 lead, but gave up 7 in the bottom half thanks to HRs by Dawson and Guerrero

Cal 17 STL 7
It was 6-6 going into the 6th when Cal scored 7 to put it aways

Bos 22 Hou 3 (5 inn)
Boston must have just found out differential could be part of a tie breaker because they really added on, scoring 14 runs in the top of the 5th.

Det 17 NY 6 (4 inn)
Detroit got 2 or more in each inning as they remain on fire.

NL 16 Minn 15
Dawson hit a bases loaded double with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th to drive in the final 2 runs as NL came back after blowing an early lead.

SF 16 AL 13
SF led throughout despite 3 HRs by Canseco.

Cal 18 SF 14
Down 15-3 in the 6th, the Giants got 8 thanks to HRs from Robby Thomspon, Rick Reuschel (ITP), and Jose Uribe, cut the deficit to 15-11, but SF just made too many baserunning gaffs to complete the comeback.

Bos 13 STL 3 (6 inn)
Clemens pitched all 6, as Boston scored 6 in the 1st and coasted.

Det 17 Hou 7 (5 inn)
Hou got 7 runs in the first 2 innings thank to 2 Glenn Davis HRs, but that was only good enough to be tied 7-7, then Detroit started hitting HRs and won their 13th in a row.

NY 11 Minn 8
Minn got 4 in the 1st and then their streaky offense sputtered.  Teufel hit a 2 out PH 3 run HR to cap a 5 run 7th for the Mets taking a 9-5 lead which held up as the Twins lost their 4th straight.

AL 20 NL 12
AL's offense was rolling as NL could never get back into the game after the 5th.

ultimate7

Cal 21 AL 18
Cal got 13 in the 8th included a Grand Slam by Downing and a PH 3 run HR by Ruppert Jones to turn a 13-8 deficit into a 21-13 lead.  AL had taken the lead with a Slam by Ripken.

Bos 13 SF 9
Bos got 5 in the 7th and about 3 extra runs because SF kept throwing to the wrong base to open a 13-7 lead, and that was all they needed.

Stl 9 Det 4
STL has ended Detroit's win streak as they seem to play well against the Tigers.  The Cards got 6 in the 2nd ant the closest the Tigers got was 7-4 in the 6th.

Hou 11 Minn 8
Houston tend to be the tonic to solve losing streaks and it looked like it was going to be that for Minn, as they scored 5 in the 1st and held a 7-1 lead in the 6th until Reynolds and Ashby hit back to back homers to cut it to 7-6.  Then Garner hit a PH 3-run shot it the bottom of the 8th to turn a 8-7 deficit into a 10-8 lead, and Minn's inconsistent offense continued to sputter.

NL 11 NY 0 (5 inn)
Fernando allowed only 2 hits over 5 innings and Raines hit a walk off Grand Slam

NL 21 Cal 18
Cal scored 7 in the top of the 8th to take their first lead of the game 18-16 thanks to back to back 2 out PH HRs by Burleson and Hendrick.  But NL answered with 5 in the bottom of the 8th which was started off by a 2-run HR by Edavis.  And Bedrosian pitched a 1-2-3 9th.  Schmidt had HRs to help NL move into a tie for 2nd with Cal.

AL 14 Bos 11
After falling behind 11-2 after 4, AL got 3 scoreless innings pitched from Saberhagen and pulled ahead 12-11 after 7.  2 more scoreless inning of relief led to the AL win, I think Boston only had 1 or 2 hits after the 4th inning.

Det 17 SF 5 (6 inn)
Shodding fielding and baserunning mistakes are not something you can afford when you play Detroit, and SF had plenty of both.  Leading to an easy win for the Tigers despite only hitting 1 HR.

Minn 15 Stl 13
Reardon pitched a 1-2-3 9th to preserve the win.

Hou 16 NY 14
The Stros had scored in every inning but the 7th, yet still trailed 13-12 going to the 9th, when Terry Puhl hit a 2 out PH HR to tie it.  Hatcher then reached on a BOP and the flood gates opened as Hou added 3 more unearned runs and Dave Smith got the save.  Jose Cruz hit 2 HRs for the Stros.

Bos 17 Cal 9
This was a huge game for Boston trying to stay in the playoff race, and they were ready for it, scoring 7 in the 3rd started off by back to back HRs by Buckner and Boggs to jump out to a 8-1 lead.  Bos led 10-2 but Cal got 3 in the 5th and 4 in the 6ht thanks to a 2 out 3 run blast by Decinces to cut it to 10-9.  But Boston got 7 in the 9th of Donnie Moore with HRs from Gedman and Rice.

Bos 17 Det 16
The Sox played liked their season was on the line, coming back from deficits of 5-0, 14-6, and 16-9 against the best team in baseball, Boston scored 7 in the 8th, thanks to a lead off PH HR by Ellis Burks, a grand slam by Jim Rice (which finally got Doyle Alexander pulled from the game) and finally a 2 out 2 run PH blast by Tony Armas, and Bob Stanley pitched a perfect 9th to cap off the come back win.  For Detroit, the loss prevented them from clinching a post season birth.
