I know the numbers are virtually identical, but mookie is just way better to me.  cant explain it but he just always seems to rope one into right for a double or single.  anyone else experience this?

The dee nee tard mixed in with gantry looks a little bit like TBT

they both suck, as does the entire Mets lineup.

GoReds - a man among men...

I've always seen them as the same player, really.  Slap hits to the left side.  I like them both.

TbT

I love both as my own children.  ah heck, NY is as close to a favorite team as i could have.

I love the mets, but they aren't that great. Mookie seems to be a little more clutch, but both players can go games hitless for me. I think Dyk has a little more pop.

BeefMaster

I always liked Dykstra better.  No idea why.

The Raiders are a successful organization

Big Apple RBI Champ

The Mets are my kryptonite.  When I play against them, I am Keith Hernandez and company hit me.  When I am the Mets, I get shutout.

Just ask GDavis.

dyksta is faster, but mookie hits for more extra bases.  therefore i think dykstras on base % is higher but mookies slugging % is higher

Dykstra is way better in my opinion. I like the Mets a lot, I think their team is fun to play with, with speed at the top and then when you take out Backman and Santana, you end up with a team that can be pretty good on a good day.  If Carter and Straw aren't hitting though, it can get ugly.
2006 Detroit Tigers...best team ever?

Darky

They both have good speed and can get the weak hits as well as some gappers, but Mookie has just a little more home run power. Mookie is a great pull hitter. So I would give my man Mookie the edge.
Dykstra and Mookie compliment each other really well in a line up where manufacturing runs is the way to go.

I like using the Mets and they are a fuckin great ball club if they are utilzed properly.
Bob Ojeda gets the start, I am looking for 5 and a third out of him. Jesse's girl Orosco gets me 4 or 5 outs, and in comes Gooden for the last three innings or so with the luxury of mixing it up a lot by throwing a good mix of  gas to keep the hitters off balance if they are shifting or leaning one way or another too much. That formula usually works if you can get a solid performance by Ojeda. If Gooden runs out of gas in a tight situation, I always have Roger MccDowel, but I like to use him only if I have to.

The slap hits, occasional doubles, occasional steals, and occasional home runs is what the Mets can do to manufacture runs.

I usually put in HOJO for Backman and Timmy Teufel for Santana. They do their thing and are really scrappy and are prone to hitting one out here and there.

Same player, sometimes I'll sub one out just for the hell of it.  Sucks batting with the same guy twice in a row.
