Potsie and I whipped up the Playstation NES emulator.  We went with a rare game of RBI3:

Potsie (Cubs) - 16
Gantry (White Sox) - 6

Wasn't as close as the score indicated, it was 16-1 going into the bottom of the 9th.  I can't hit or field in RBI3, a bad combo...

Next up is the 1990s RBI ROM...

That's a little better, using Marquis best of the 1990s ROM:

Gantry (Ci) - 9
Potsie (Mo) - 3

Pretty ugly transition from RBI3.  In the end Potsie couldn't stop the 7/8 combo of Mariano Duncan & Joe Oliver...

That's the end of the game for awhile, going to play some trivial pursuit...

LOL! We've been playing my 90s RBI rom at work. We play knockout 5 game series. Winner keeps his team, loser picks another team until all teams have been used. I lost CIN to OAK, but ran up a buch of wins with Philly. He has CLE which rocks on that rom & instead of taking the Yankees, I decided to go with Montreal & took that series after work. He has FLA (sux) and NYY (doh!) to choose from.

Curve pitch, no dropping IF flies (on purpose), one starter per game.

They have an online version, but last time I checked it was one player unless you subscribed...

And I'll gladly take on any comers in TP....

Gantry, I'll apologize in advance for my ignorance, but can you give simple directions for how you play RBI ROMs on playstation or do you have a good link, I did a Google search but didn't get much help.  I assume I'll have to burn emulator with ROM on CD, but is there additonal hardware I'll need?  Thanks for any help.

On what other systems can I play RBI?

If a system has a NES eumlator, you can play RBI. Most of the newer console system such as XBox and Playstation have NES emulators. The advantage to these is that you can play on a regular TV and use a real controller.

The one console system where I've personally played RBI is the Dreamcast. DCEmulation is the top website for all things related to Dreamcast Emulation. Download NesterDC and have a ball, it's my favorite way to play RBI outside of the NES.

For the Sony Playstation 1, a great emulator for RBI is It Might Be NES. The colors and gameplay are virtually flawless and the sound works well. Keep in mind that you can only use emulators on your Playstation if it contains a mod chip. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you probably can't play NES games on your Playstation.

If you have a GameBoy Advance, you can give PocketNES a try. I personally have never tried it, but it should be playable if you have a flash card and the required hardware. Since the GameBoy Advance has a link option, you should be able to play against another human opponent.
