Has anyone thrown a no hitter? Vs. Computer or Vs. Human?

Gantry

A few people have mentioned that they have, but the idea of a no hitter draws the ire of some.  They say a no-no is completely dependant on your opponent and has little prestige...

Fortunately we straight pitch folks don't really have to worry about this debate...

Gantry, good point.

Once with Boston, I threw a 1 hitter against my friend who I feel is comparable to me in RBI prowess. Im not saying I am the man but...I know my RBI.  ;D ;D

I am yet to throw a no hitter though. I think it'd really be hard! You'd really have to use the "rocking" pitch method to great use and paint those corners!!!!

Baines

I have against the CPU but that's not saying much considering how easy it is to strike the CPU out.  I'll never get one against a human because we always play straight pitch.

What I'm working on right now is to get a 9 inning, no strikeout, no error no-hitter vs the CPU.  I've had a 1 hitter and had one go through the 7th but havent done it yet.  The most pathetic thing yet was last week when I had one going through 6 against the NL and had it broken up by Pedrique.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

Gantry

That actually sounds very difficult, probably the ultimate computer challenge.  I don't think I can do it personally...

Baines

When you're sitting around and can't find an opponent, you have to come up with some way to make a CPU game competitive.  The only bad part is having to quit hitting when you get up 9-0.

About 2 weeks ago I had one of thse in my grasp and then stupidly misplayed a fly ball near the wall with 2 outs in the 8th, so I had to settle for a one hitter.

I try this one a week or so, I'll get one eventually gone 6-7 innings many times.

The easiest way to no-hit the CPU is to get one of those guys who throws a good moving, corner hitting slowball (when it gets down to 30 mph or so...)

The CPU has a very hard time laying off of those sort of pitches.  Kind of makes is interesting to try to throw one with a reliever, too.

Many 1 and 2 hitters vs. the cpu.  Never a no-no over 9 innings.  Done it plenty in mercy rule games

Flood

I had a 7-inning no-no slaughter playing straight pitch against a friend...and he wasn't even that bad of a player.

No, the ultimate computer challenge was coined by SmokedUBad when he created the season-no hitter.  That is, play an entire season against the computer without allowing a hit the entire time...very difficult to do.

I've thrown a no hitter against my buddy and he's thrown a no hitter against me...we're both anticipating winning Beales RBI tournament, so we aren't exactly beginners...but I don't like to say that we've both been no hit because the natural conclusion is that we can't hit--but it's more about us both being really crafty pitchers.

Oh, and all of our no hitters were with one SP (both RPs, of course).

I had John Tudor and Chubbs was Houston.  I threw 8 and 2/3rds of a perfect game.  He subbed in Davey Lopes for his very last chance and laced a single on the first pitch.  It was so fucking crazy.  If I had done it, I would have retired, I think.
We play slurve if anyone is wondering.

I threw a no-hitter a couple days ago against my roommate.  He's a super quality player.  Our latest games have been going 12-15 innings, which is truly awesome.  We have plenty of competition in Bloomington, IL.

Might have also pitched one yesterday against Ultimate7 or DXXPAC321.  Either of you guys remember?

Anticipate no longer, I can tell you the champion will remain from Illinois. :)

20% for fielding might be right--but at our level, it's more of a given than hitting (in my opinion)...so I'd have hitting a higher % than fielding.

I'd probably say (for curve only):

65% pitching
25% hitting
10% fielding

No no-hitter on Friday, you may have had a couple of 2 hitters.
