The tourney play was/is intense.  Lots of very good players.  Personally I finished in I guess the 9th-12th group, winning my first round.  Losing a couple of close games to smokedubad, in the 2nd round and then losing 2 out of 3 to Carden? in the next round.  Definately good games.
As far as what I know of other Dee-Neers:

Smokedubad lost in the 3rd Round to Riley.  JoeDirt lost in the 2nd round to last years champion (Colin Foster), but lost 2 out of 3 and will probably have a good chance to come through the back door.

I wish I could have hung around more but I had so much other stuff going on yesterday, and today I'm headed to the Cubs/Sox game.

Got to me Gantry, but unfortunately did not have time to hang out or talk much.  Hopefully we'll get further updates soon.

I concur that the play was intense, much better tourney this year.  Got to meet JoeDirt and Ultimate7 (briefly), as well as JoeDirt's companion Riley.  They are both very good players, JoeD lost in the deciding game 1-0 to last year's champ.  He was still steaming about giving up that dinger to Keith Hernandez.  But the format of the tourney is a good one, as you gotta lose twice to be eliminated...

Both JoeDirt and his buddy use the Tettleton style on every pitch.  After seeing that, I'm thinking about making a trip into curve style.  That style works perfectly for me, as it would give me a little more time to react to pitches...

The most disappointing aspect of the tourney for me what that I saw three seperate people use San Fran and all of them kept Bobby Thompson in...

So is the COTUT all over?  JoeDirt got second?  That's pretty admirable.  Very respectable finish.  But I'm sure he's PISSED.

No, I meant deciding game of that series.  Brackets are up, JoeDirt's Ohio companion Mike Riley took it all.  JoeDirt took 4th:

Congrats to Riley...

JoeDirt

I am kinda pissed...I didn't play as well as I'm capable of...that's the most disappointing thing.  I finished 4th...my buddy Riley won the tourney--and played lights out the entire weekend!

Congrats, Riley. I know first hand on how good he is. That batting style is tough as hell to strikeout. I probably had 3 strikeouts on him in 2 games.  I am still pissed off about a couple things in the tournament.  1 being that the first game I played Riley, I was winning 5-1 until the 7th inning when he got 2 runs, then get got 2 more in the 9th to tie and a walk off homer in the 10th to win.  Thats not the worst part.  My series against carden, it was 3rd game, he was san fran, i was new york, chili davis up...for some reason i pitch down the middle and he gets a walk off homerun.  now it gets even worse.  he is st louis, i am houston.  its 0-0 in the bottom of the ninth.  2 outs, 2 strikes.  he hits a homerun with HERR.  yes, Herr, the last person in the world i would expect that from.  what a terrible way to end the tournament.

oh yeah, gantry...no way in hell would i ever keep robbie thompson in the order.  hes awful.

Don't worry Gantry I didn't leave Thompson in the 2 games I used SF (maybe for 1 AB in one of the games).
