I gotta admit, this is much more fun than I thought it would be.  I didn't really watch many games last time, nothing beats screaming at a computer screen when Doug DeCinces strikes out.  great work Darky...

I've been watching all the games this season, too, and it's been quite enjoyable (even though my team has a tendency to collapse in the late innings).

That was the bad Saberhagen, he has some games where he decides to get a head 0-2 and then throw pitches right down the middle.
So in other words, this was the even year Saberhagen...

Ha.

I almost referred to that in the texts last night, but I wasn't 100% sure you'd understand it.

Color me surprised.

BREAKING NEWS!

SAN LUIS OBISPO (AP) - The OC Legions of Doom have announced the firing and evisceration of manager Seymour Butz in the wake of a disappointing 1-2 start to the season.  The decision came after a disastrous ninth-inning meltdown against the Pabst Blue Ribbons in which Butz left a visibly tired Mike Witt in the game until the tying run came to the plate and, in his capacity as third base coach, sent yet another OC Legions runner to be cut down at home plate.

"It's not just one thing - it's the culmination of a lot of things," stated OC Legions co-chairman BeefMaster.  "Yeah, there was the debacle today, but Seymour's been pretty erratic all season, and I wonder if there were maybe some mental health issues involved.  To be honest, the bemused look on his face as his guts spilled out really reinforced to me that we made the right decision."

The loss, coupled with the firing of third base coach Hugh G. Rection following week 1, leaves the OC Legions shorthanded in the coaching department.  Mike Hunt, manager of the AAA Hell (MI) Saints, has been named interim manager, bringing along fellow Saints coach Al Caholic to coach third base.  It is unclear who will replace Hunt and Caholic on the Saints' staff, although sources say that OC Legions talent scouts have been making inquiries to a Springfield watering hole regarding the availability of several candidates.

Butz was not popular with his players, and the announcement was greeted with a smattering of applause in the OC Legions' clubhouse.  Cleanup hitter Brian Downing said afterward that he was not a fan of the manager's hard-nosed style or his strategic decisions, although he praised Butz's entrails as "delicious".

Poopydicks capture first win in extra innings

Phoenix (AP) - D.Hndrsn made an errant throw to P.Garner at 3rd base in the bottom of the 10th inning which allowed D.Dcincs to advance and score the winning run that sent the crowd at the Turd Bowl into a wild delirium.

Down 14-12 in the top of the 9th and seeking their first win, the Banana Hammocks scored 2 runs courtesy of clutch hits off the bench by Seitzr and Dvdsn to tie up the tight Dove RBI divisional game 14-14. Dayley pitched a scoreless 9th to send the game into extra innings.

In the top of the 10th, Sntna came off the bench to hit a RBI double and the Banana Hammocks took a scarce one run lead into the bottom half of the inning.

Canseco led off the inning with a double, Dcincs smacked him in with a RBI double to tie up the contest. G.Brett then lined a screaming single to left field and D.Hndrsn attempted to throw out Dcincs at third base. Unfortunately, Hndrsn's throw was nowhere near 3rd baseman Garner and Dcincs scored easily to end the game. Owners Gantry and McLance joined the celebration at home plate, and rookie owner Turd looked dejected in the dugout as he failed to register his first win in the FRBI League.

Awesome Badasses overcome 8 run deficit in the 9th, Ripken delivers walkoff shot in the 10th to complete Empire collapse and capture first win

Oklahoma City (AP) - The Galactic Empire appeared to be on their way to opening up the season 3-0 as the defending champions took a 15-7 lead into the 9th. The Awesome Badasses had other ideas. The Badasses scored 8 runs in the bottom of the 9th to even the non league contest 15-15, and won it in the tenth with a walkoff shot by Ripken to dead center.

Down 15-7 in the bottom of the ninth, the Awesome Badasses woke up and exploded for 8 runs, five of those runs came with two outs. R.Gedman hit an inside the park homerun courtesy of a glitch when the ball was stuck in the fence. The glitch gave the Badasses all the momentum they needed going into the 10th inning.

In the 10th, JoFranco tossed his second scoreless inning in relief, and Ripken led off the bottom of the 10th with a blast over dead center to end the game.

The Empire scored zero runs after the 6th inning and were outscored 9-0 in that span. The Badass bullpen delivered and were instrumental in the victory as AlecTrevylan has his first victory of the year and first victory of over the  juggernaut Empire.

"Painful loss...just absolutely painful to lose that way after we dominated the first eight innings. Our guys lacked the killer instinct today and this is unacceptable and an embarrassment to our winning program. We'll move on and learn from this. We fully expect to take out our frustrations next game against the Artichokes", said Darkside to swarming group of reporters.

Pabst Blue Ribbons outscore OC Legions of Doom 11-1 in final three innings, remain undefeated and win FRBI record 6th straight

Sioux Falls (AP) - With the Gantry Divisional game tied up at 14 after 7 innings on a cold and windy day at Sioux Falls Stadium, the Pabst Blue Ribbons bullpen took over. The PBR bullpen held the OC scoreless in the final two innings while the offense scored 5 of McDowl in the 8th and added an insurance run in the 9th to start the season 3-0 with a 20-14 win.

The PBR victory is now their sixth straight dating back to week 20 of last season. It is the longest known winning streak in the history of the FRBI League.

C.Lemon spearheaded the Blue Ribbon attack. The OF hit for the cycle, registered 6 hits, crossed the plate 4 times, and drove in 5 runners  B.Brenly went 5-7 with 3 RBI and D.Baylor hit a pair of shots and added 5 RBI.
Kerfld pitched the final two innings and was sharp out of the pen as he allowed only 3 hits and no runs.

The OC, who were picked by many to contend for the title, are off to a 1-2 start and have fired 2 coaches so far with their dismal start. "It's not just one thing - it's the culmination of a lot of things," stated OC Legions co-chairman BeefMaster. TBG was unavailable for comment.

Armas and E.Davis lift Rebel Alliance past Fighting Artichokes

Madison (AP) - T.Armas hit a mammoth 3 run homerun to put up the Alliance 14-13 in the bottom of the 8th inning. A few batters later, Lmbrdz belted a RBI double to give the Alliance a 15-13 lead going into the top of the ninth. That was enough for Schrld to work with as he came out of the bullpen and slammed the door on the Fighting Artichokes as he got J.Clark to fly out with runners on first and second with two outs.

Morris and Cox pitched brilliantly as they combined to only give up 8 runs in 7 innings of quality work. Offensively, E.Davis and T.Armas blasted a pair of shots and accounted for 9 RBI's while under the radar player Lmbrdz collected three hits and knocked in three runners in crucial situations.

The Rebel Alliance move into a first place tie with the Galactic Empire in the Dove RBI Division. The Empire has either been in sole possession of first place or in a tie in the Dove RBI division for 25 straight weeks. A record which the Rebel Alliance hopes to snap and end the current reign of dominance that the Empire has going in the Dove RBI division.

Fighting Ulrachers quickly mercy rule Sally Cunts

Minneapolis (AP) - Some fans arrived casually late at a blistering cold Fidel Reagan Freedom Gulag Stadium. Before they could even take their seats, the Gantry Divisional game was all but over.

The Ulrachers torched Sbrhgn for 10 runs in the first two innings and Gooden shutout the Sally Cunts as the Ulrachers quickly mercy ruled the Cunts 10-0 in two innings. The shutout is the first time time ever that the Sally Cunts have not scored a run in any game and their quickest defeat.

D.Evans, Whitkr, and Hendrk all homered and drove in three runs a piece to lead the Ulrachers offensively. Doc Gooden only allowed 2 hits, zero runs, faced only 8 batters, and won his second consecutive start.

Fighting Ulrachers 2-1, (2-1)
