Another note.  All-Star players are not eligible in this draft.

GDavis

another note guys.  You can't draft 3 right fielders for your outfield.  You have to pick up one RF, one CF, and one LF.

GDavis

Is Gibson RF or LF?  It says he's RF on the main page but on Pines' page it says he's a LF.  Anyone have the instruction booklet handy for a ruling?

GDavis

dvldog, if you're confused here's an explaination.  the main dee-nee.com site has a typo that has Gibson as a RF.  You're not allowed to have 2 RFs so that's why I thought you had to re-pick.  turns out Gibson's a LF so it's all good.

Gantry

Changed Gibson and Herndon's positions on the main page, thanks for the update!  Now you guys who can't get Potatoes can draft Herndon...

Our rankings all have Gibby at LF but Detroit page said RF.  Just an oversight...

GDavis

Good picks so far guys.  I noticed most of you are picking big boppers.  I'm trying to fill out the tough positions first because I don't want to end up with guys like Spike Owen and Wally Backman on my team.  I'm also interested in seeing how important pitching is gonna be in this league.  Remember, because the computer always subs in pitchers from top to bottom, whoever you designate as your SP1 is going to start every game, but with the amount of offense I'm expecting, coupled with the computer's shitty defense I expect that all 4 pitchers will see some action in a lot of the games.

this is the most amazing idea i have ever heard. Im new to the forum, however, i have been a loyal dee-nee supporter for 3 years now. I just cant believe its taken three years to think of this fantasy league idea. Im totally in.

GDavis

Hey wiz.  We've already started drafting so I'm not sure about what everyone thinks about adding someone in the middle of the draft.  Also a lot of the top players are already gone.  This will probably be a short first season since we're really just testing everything out so you may want to wait until we do season 2 to get in.

Wow, you guys just muscled me out of all the good CFs that round.  Looks like I'm gonna be stuck with McGee or Dykstra or maybe K.Bass.

EDIT: At least now I can wait until the last round to pick a CF, since no one else can pick one.

When you guys get the kicks out I want in on FANTASY RBI.  Shit, I'll be in for fantasy ballet dancing...

doveRBI

Guys I have been out of town and I don't have time to read all these posts but I am a fantasy machine and I want in.

fknmclane

Yeah, I want in too.  I think that makes four people who are waiting for the next league to open up.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

GDavis

Sorry guys, you just had the bad luck of not being on the board when I decided to get off my ass and get the ball rolling on this one.  We're probably gonna do a short season on this one, cuz I'd like to get it done by the end of december when I go on vacation.  Probably every team will play 2 games against each team, so it'll be an 8 game season.

Once the ROM is created I'll simulate the games and then post recaps of each game with a screen capture of the final stats.  Probably in the interest of keeping things fair a non-participant should simulate my games, either someone in the league that isn't matched up with me or a volunteer that isn't in the league.  In fact if any of you guys that are interested in fantasy RBI - season 2 want to help me out with simulating the games, creating the ROM, etc.  I could definately use some help.

Would it be possible to play fantasy RBI Baseball, where we'd all draft players and then let the computer play out a season on watch mode?  If so, would anyone be interested?

Why yes, it would!

Credit to GDavis as the brainchild for the creation of the Fantasy RBI League. The league has sure come long ways since 2003.

Fighton deserves a lot of credit for elevating the league when he took over in 2005 with his awesome writeups, stats, and introcuction of boxscores...then he stepped away in 2007.

From there I ran two seasons and introduced games on YouTube. Fighton then came back and ran the league brilliantly in 2017.

Tempo game it a go in 2018, but unfortunately, he couldn't finish it due to time constraints and a little burnout.

2019 I started the inaugural Arcade Version, then the league was paused for a year.
2020 Nomaaa started the inaugural Super League (combined the NES and Arcade versions), but Covid and technical issues halted the league.
2020 I rebooted both leagues - we got the Arcade season done in August, then jumped into the Super League shortly after which was just completed.

Doing the games live on Twitch while anyone can tune-in was a HUGE game changer. Then for anyone who missed it, they were able to rewatch the games on Twitch or on YouTube.
