He's just been named hitting coach for the Royals.  Really?  Just?  Seems to me he was a pretty good hitter in his day when he wasn't rampaging from his dugout to yell at an umpire that merely called him out for having too much pine tar on his bat.

Got a picture with the Brett statue on our visit to the K this past weekend.

My kids do not care much about baseball or its history, but my son knew who Brett was because I pointed out that it was the guy from the "shit my pants last night" video from Spring Training a few years ago.
