worst manager to ever come out of RBI

I'm from Phoenix.  Which means I'm subjected to the idiocy of Bob Brenly on almost every night.  Not a game goes by where I don't want to kick a hole in the TV after one of his bonehead decisions.

Last night, he had poor Shea Hillenbrand playing out of position for the twentieth game in a row.  Spivey's throw was bad but it wasn't terrible.  A real first baseman stops it and gets the out.  But Brenly insists on shuffling his lineup and positions on a nightly basis.  Everyone wonders why they suck so bad.  This is definitely a reason.

In the top of the ninth, Danny Bautista actually got a hit, so the batter represented the tying run.  Instead of pinch hitting with Luis Gonzalez, easily the best player on the team, the delicate genius puts Baerga in to hit and gets Gonzo in the on-deck circle.  Game over.

After that game last night, Brenly will never come to bat again in any RBI game in my home.  It's a new rule.  I may to have to post in on the door.

Very valid point about the World Series.  But even Brenly admitted the stars were aligned properly and his team could do no wrong.
