I would like to lodge a formal complaint about Marc Sullivan being considered and RBI legend.  The man's nickname is "Stinky," for god's sake...

It seems the only time I ever get a hit with him is when he hits it out of the park, which is only maybe every 15th pinch hit appearence or so.  My pitchers honestly have a higher batting average than him.

Wilfong

I voted for Cali, but now I'm doubting that it was correct

I would take Ruppert over anyone on Boston's bench

Henderson, Burks, and Armas are very good, all somewhat better than Hendrick and Wilfong

Burleson is much better than Sullivan

don't doubt yourself, ultimate. you're 100% right on this one. rupert is better than anyone on boston's bench and hendrick and wilfong are comparable to armas burks and hendu. stinky is terrible, so that's an easy win too. cali has the best player on either bench and boston has the worst.

Gantry

The thing with Boston is that starting Armas, Burks and Henderson all game puts you in a better position than starting Ruppert, Hendrick and Wilfong.  Top3 against top3 and Boston definitely has the edge.  To me, if you think Cali is better than you put alot of weight on the 4th sub...

I'd like to mention Houston's bench for a moment.  For some reason they are a treat to work with.   I think this has to do with the fact that you have so many holes in that Astros lineup, that you're constantly sitting there in the dugout looking around, telling Terry Puhl to start doing stretches and swinging a bat.
I like Puhl as the lefthanded hitter who has some pop....he's a guy I like to bring in for Walling around the sixth inning.    Reynolds is terrible too so I like to bring in Lopes, who always gets base knocks and can get triples with his speed.     Ashby almost always has to be subbed for as well, so you bring in Scrap Iron, who has some decent power.   I have a special place in my heart for Dickie Thon since he posts here:

and dude is just a real trooper and always gives it his best when i sub him in.  Houston has a nice, versatile bench, the real definition of a bench.  But those three for Boston are deadly

You give Walling 5 innings?  He is the worst hitter on this team (including the entire bench).  Your 3-hitter should be the best overall hitter on the team-not the worst.  For me, Garner goes in the 3-hole immediately.

Shooty

The best bench in RBI is New York's.  Its made of non-splinetering wood and has a nice deep varnish.

Big Apple RBI Champ

Rupperto over Armas
Burks over Hendrick
Hendu over Burleson
Wilfong over Sully

It's close but I'd take Boston.

Worst bench is Minnetonka.

This one's tough because for Boston, you use half of their bench the first time through the lineup. Burks to lead off and Armas in the 8 hole. I also use half of Cali's bench the first time through too. So it comes down to who's actually used as a pinch hitter and not just replacing some shitty starterw. In this case, it's gotta be Detroit. Madlock goes in the 5 hole and then you've got some badass lefties to work with late in the game when you actually need a real pinch hitter.

Thanks.    I've always have faith in his left-handed slap hit ability to get on base for Davis, maybe too much.     He sucks.   Probably better just starting Garner and not letting Walling fukk things up.    I will try this in the furture.

If I were you Cowboys, I would try putting Puhl in for Walling and see how it goes.  Or better yet, Garner for Walling and Puhl for Assby.  To me, Puhl and Doran are the exact same player and there is little benefit in immediately subbing him in.

I would also recommend you leave Reynolds in the game.  He is the most powerful lefty on Houston and is their best lefty including the bench.  His power is 54 points higher than Walling, which is huge.  Almost the same difference between Joyner & Wilfong, for example...

Give it a shot, I think you'll find that Houston becomes a better team with Walling out of the lineup...

Definitely, the biggest mistake people make on Ho (next to leaving Walling in), is taking Reynolds out.  I used to do this all the time before the learnings of power and contact numbers alike.
