Personally I would say either Detroit or California...although San Fransisco would run a close 3rd...since i've been playing this game for 12 years...since i was around 6...I've had the most success with Detroit

Gerlost

It's gotta be Boston, no question about it for me.  Burks, Armas, and Henderson are fearsome hitters.

Despite having Stinky Sullivan, the Boston bench is far and away the best.  My only complaint, much like my complaint against the entire Boston squad, is that there are no lefties.

No bench can compete with Burks, Hendu and Armas.  Shit, most teams 3-4-5 can't compete with that.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

yes...boston does have a good bench and armas has by far the most power....but the fact that he is by far the slowest player on the game i think brings down the quality of there bench...i personally am not a fan of boston's bench...but still, the fact that boston does have a good bench just can't be ignored...no matter how slow armas is, the power and talent is still there

BDawk

I gotta go with Cali. That team wouldn't be shit with out the bench. Boston would still be OK without it's bench

Boston, absolutely...

Quotealthough San Fransisco would run a close 3rd..

No disrespect, but I just can't see any argument for San Fran over Boston.  I am the world's biggest Harry Spilman fan but even so it's not even close...

Stock

In order:

Boston
California
Detroit
NL
New York
San Francisco
Houston
St. Louis
Am
Minnesota

Man, I thought that this thread was about the RBI player who could bench press the most.  I would have to go with Bic Mac although I wonder who would win the drug free compition.  Julio?

lol

Both were drug free in '87.
Both were roiding at the end of their career.

You are right.  McGwire didn't start 'roiding until the early 90's I would guess.  I think the RBI bench press champion would have to be McGwire.

Darky

Boston all the way and end of story.
80's at eight

TbT

ive done some rethinking and if DET wasnt so loaded with thier starters, and you would need to use more bench players out the gate they might be more valueable, and probably woulda recieved more than 1 vote...taking away from CAL/BOS votes.  but Mclanes right , Bos bench is probably better than most 3-4-5 hitters out there.

What!  Unless you are talking about the Jesus juice, where do you get off accusing Julio?  And even more importantly, how dare you insinuate that the man is already at the end of his career.

This has been a childish response to an unnecessarily personally taken post.

Wasn't knocking him for the juice.  If I was doing this, I would have to hate mostly ALL Major Leagers.
I do apologize for me saying he is at the end of his career though.  He had an RBI single last night.  All he needs to do is hit one mor e Home Run and he will be the oldest player EVER to hit one.  Some pitcher back in the 1930s has the current record.

Jack Quinn, 1932 Dodgers, how many times have we been over this?

I believe he was some pitcher back in the 1930s.

Wilfong

I don't think this should be a landslide. I think Ruppert is more consistent than Armas. Wilfong and Hendrick, for me, are better than Henderson and Burks and Burlsn is better than Sullivan.

ultimate7

I voted for Cali, but now I'm doubting that it was correct

I would take Ruppert over anyone on Boston's bench

Henderson, Burks, and Armas are very good, all somewhat better than Hendrick and Wilfong

Burleson is much better than Sullivan
