I have to admit i think the Angels if used correctly are the best team in the game... their bench by far is the best in the game... i have to give them the nod over the Red Sox because of that... I like the combo of Witt and Sutton with some heat with Donnie (RIP) Moore... Wolfgang is a must at the top spot because Pettis is the worst player in the game... you have to sub Rupert Jones somewhere in the middle of the lineup (ie Grich) because lets face it RBI odviouly confused Rupert Jones career with a first ballot hall of famer... Hendrick is also a great bench player and the rest of the lineup is awesome...  I'd like to hear some comments on this subject...

I can't really argue. Cali is a nasty team.
I'm sure everyone remembers when thy gave them a chance. On paper, thy look pretty crappy. In reality, they mash the friggin ball.

Wilfong

When I was a kid I never liked the Angels, but now I'd say they're clearly the best. Discovering Wilfong, Jones, etc... for the first time is truly amazing. They're also the best dressed men on the diamond.

The Angels are pretty fucking good.  They have nothing but power.  Chubbs slaughtered me last night in our first game with the Angels.  Shit, I take it back.  He won by ten but it went the full nine (the bastard scored 16 runs in the last three innings.)
I plunked Doug DeCinces twice.  Fuck that guy.  Fuck him right in his fucking ass.

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

The Angels are pretty tight, but every time I get to the ninth inning and bring Donnie Moore, he winds up giving up a home run, shooting his wife and then killing himself. I hate that, although it is pretty cool to see an RBI guy shoot himself at the pitcher's mound.

And if you aren't playing Detroit, you ain't shit...

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Never use Donnie Moore in the 9th. Use him as the setup guy. (I also do this with Willie H. - whom I despise).

The Angels can be a pretty solid team.  But i like to use Rupert in the leadoff spot and sub Hendrk for Grich.

That's what I like to see.  Fuck that motherfucker.  I've started plunking Grich lately too.

I love to play with Cali but their pitching staff is complete and total ass.  With the bats in their lineup if they had any pitching whatsoever they would dominate RBI.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

It's all about Rob Wilfong at the leadoff spot, even with Ruppert being the best pinch hitter in the game.  I am a pretty humble guy, but I can confidentially say that I am the world's best Rob Wilfong player (straight pitch disclaimer)...

Weird thing is that logically ruppert 1st, hendrick #6 and wilfong #8 should work.  But wilfong can't hit anywhere but leadoff...

Baines

I'm all about Wilfong leading off also but I have a friend who has unreal success with Jones there.  Of course I can't blame the guy because he's the luckiest bastard I've ever seen with Grich and Uncle Bob is still coming through for all of us so that's the only PH he uses.

I personally feel you can unbelivable success with Ruppert Jones anywhere.  And nobody can outplay my Wilfong with Bobby Grich in straight pitch...

Unless you can hit with Wilfong at #6, you have to put Ruppert there.   Otherwise you'll have 4 righties in a row (Downing, Grich/Hendrick, Schofield, and Boone/Hendrick/Burleson) - and since the previous don't have Boston power it just ain't gonna work.  Too prone to the double play...

Baines

I agree completely.  That's what gets me so fired up when I see it work out for this guy.  IMO Rupperto was born to hit in the 6 hole and Grich should never see a pitch.  People who go against conventional RBI wisdom should be struck down by the RBI gods instead of being rewarded.   ;D

How can you not have love for the Grich who stole Cristmas LMAO

Gantry

I use Grich about once a year, but I've never had much success with him in striaght pitch.   He's rightly and has less power than Hendrick.  So he sits...

_13eoWuLF__

Well i don't really play slow pitch but alls i know is I've had some clutch dingers with that bastard.
