How do you guys play with this, my friend always uses the rule or lack thereof in the game to get an easy double play, we play straight pitch as most of you do but he refuses to stop taking advantage of the absense of the rule, this has led him to actually getting a triple play on me because the bases were juiced, it was embarresing but my ethics are to strong for me to do the same....Just curious what you guys thought
What do you got there, the 4 volt? I did you a favor.

To me it doesn't matter either way whatever my opponent wants to do, but if he does it to me, you can be damn sure I'm going to do it back.

We've been over this before.  Check out this link:

I, for one, disagree with allowing the 'intentional drop' or disreguarding the infield fly rule, whichever you prefer to call it.  I think it should be mandated.

Overall, the conclusion that we reached was that most didn't want to allow it.  However, most players also didn't want personal judgement to be the deciding factor on an illegal or legal drop... so we allow it in our tournament.

A severe beating follows an intentional drop, rule or no rule, I don't give a fucking shit.  It's fucking bush league.  Now I'm fired up and I'll stop right there.
That's right, I said it. BUSH LEAGUE

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

Just don't cheat ;)

Obey the infield fly rule.

No intentional drops.

Give yourself up (especially online play) when your opponent has a controller screw up.

JoeDirt

Yeah, Ryno did this for me twice--I was using the damn keyboard...I thought it really classy of him.   :-*

I can't believe you could even play with the keyboard joe....

I was also in shock when I saw people at the COTUT purposely dropping a popup and taking two outs.   It just isn't right to me...

Though admittedly I will drop a popup if the guy on first is much faster than the guy running to first.  I never take two though.   Even if I do BOP a popup I simply throw the furthest baserunner out, never take two.  Maybe I have an outdated way of thinking...

I too play with the keyboard.  And myself.  But not at the same time.  Usually.

You're an honorable man, Gantry. I can't believe that people would play without the infield fly rule - it's ridiculous. However, I won't drop the ball and throw out the faster runner at 2nd. I just wouldn't feel right, plus, what's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?

Gantry

That's true, I havne't given that much thought.  Probably a bit hypocritical when you think about it.  I consider the IFR a fielder's choice, but it probably isn't....

BDawk

There should be no infield fly rule. It's not the defense's fault your hitting sucks and you can't get ti out of the infield.

In fact, there is no infield fly rule.

I'm a big believer that RBI is perfect the way it is--I ask you, fine people, who are we to add made up rules to the game?  ???

well seeing as the game is juiced for offense as it is I can see why guys will drop a pop up on purpose. I never have done it on purpose though.
