Now, try not to cheat and go look up the answer somewhere. I want everyone's best guess at this.

Three RBI players played games in four different decades. Two of them are Nolan Ryan (66-93) and Jesse Orosco (79-03). Who is the third?

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

JoeDirt

What RBI player is the only player in major league history to lead the league in batting in three different decades?

I'm refusing to look this one up.

Gary Gaetti?

Tim Raines and Julio Franco?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

I know it's not Julio Franco.  His rookie year was 80-81-82?

Raines or Gaetti, so far.

JoeDirt

well, if wer'e taking multiple stabs, I'd guess either Chris Speier, Billy Bo, or perhaps Bobby Grich?  I know all three of those guys played way earlier than you might think.   ???

I'm pretty sure it's Ricky Henderson for the 4 decade question.  For the batting crown, I'm gonna guess George Brett.

Raines rookie was '81...Gaetti's was...hmm...I can't recall--early 80's?

Yeah, G Brett.

Hmmm....Henderson is a great guess...I think he debuted in '79?  His rookie card is definitely '80, though...

That's gotta be it.

Stop, take a deep breath, and think about this one... I'll give you a hint.  The player has to be an RBIer.

fknmclane

Did George Brett play after 2000?  I'm not sure he did.

Got it, Cal Ripken.  Nah, that's not right either.

I don't think Brett did... I think JoeDirt had the right idea; it's one of those  obscure guys.

JerryD

According to Baseball-Reference.com, Brett won the title in '76, '80, and '90.  Just barely, but he's the one.

NO CHEATING...

yeah, we're getting the guesses mixed up now.  JoeDirt has already said the answer is Brett

the new reference to Brett is for the first question.

Hah!  I can't believe I feel for that...yeah, then I'm sticking with either Speier, Buckner, or Grich.

If I had to crap shoot it, I'd go with Buckner...or Grich...not sure he played in the 90s, though...I guess if I had to guess, I'd say Billy Bo?

I had to look it up, and all i can say is that the answer has already been guessed... i was not right.

JoeDirt

Was it one of my three?

I've established my order: Buckner, Grich, Speier. ???

It's fightonusc's game, so I'll let him call the winner.

You could always look up your guesses and fknmclane's though.

It's not Rickey Henderson though.

JoeDirt

I'm almost positive Rickey got some abs in '79 and he obviously played in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s...so maybe fightonusc was including the arcade games?
