The Simpson's episode "Homer at Bat" is on tonight at 7PM EST on Fox 5 in NY.  This is the episode where Mr Burns recruits MLB players for his company Softball team.

Roger Clemens, Wade Boggs, Ken Griffey Jr., Don Mattingly, Ozzie Smith, Darrel Strawberry, Jose Canseco, Mike Scioscia, Steve Sax as themselves.

Memorable moments Burns keeps giving Mattingly a hard time about sideburns.  Mattingly eventually shaves his head in a line from ear to ear over the top of his head.  (Great Steinbrenner Joke)!
Ozzie Smith falls into a bottomless pit due to his curiosity.
Daryl Strawberry gets elephantitus of the head.

Lisa: Wow, Dad!
Bart: Homer, can I get you a beer?
Lisa: No, I want to get him a beer.
Homer: Kids, kids, kids! You can each get me a beer.

Wasn't that Ken Griffey?

Yeah.  Straw was the only one that nothing happened to.

They probably figured coke addiction and cancer and prison was enough for one guy.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

If I remember correctly, Straw plays the role of model citizen on the team... always referring to Burns as "skip" and following every instruction to the letter of the law.. which might be the funniest/most ridiculous part of the episode...

Also, Bart and Lisa make Darryl cry by chanting "DAR-RYL, DAR-RYL" at him because he's taken Homer's place in the field.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

It is the best simpsons ep ever. The song at the end is classic.

agreed 100%. Best episode ever! The whole thing is quotable. Ozzie disappearing into the carnival ride.

The pitcher is lefty, darryl is lefty. The odds tell me I should bat a righty. Simpson, you're in.

woo hoo!

Darryl, hit the showers.

But skip, I have 7 homers today.
Bearfucker! Do you need  assistance?!

Scroope

Its my favorite episode too.  Its on the season 3 DVD if you want it.  Fox 5 NY had a viewers choice and that was #3.

I don't think that I would go into the city for that tournament.  I'm  going to be pretty busy all month. Sorry.

Simpson's made a Ken Burns style documentary follow up on the episode.  It was on Fox yesterday afternoon, and they will be playing this week on Fox Sports.   It was well worth watching.
