Gantry has a list similar to this on his website.  The difference is hopefully what will compel you guys to vote - it is the opinion of the masses.

If it becomes obvious that this post is a failure, I will end it in shame and think of something more pathetic to post.

This is somewhat an extension of my last poll and will influence whether or not I do a poll for an RBI Hall of Fame.

The Ground Rules:

Voting should be based on how well you have done with a particular player.  Voters should have played with every player in each category - (I mean really, how long have you been playing this game)

In a Purist spirit, the All-Star teams are not included.

Voting will be done by positions.

The number of polls used to determine a winner is subject to change, and probably will change.

How is the Winner Determined?
If one player receives more than 15 votes and holds a plurality, voting will close and he will be declared the winner.

This message will be posted, along with any modifications, on each new post throughout this series of polls.

The winners will be posted on a separate post, as well as on this post.

I think everyone here knows my feelings on Lou Whitaker.

SUCKS!!
You're going down, chainsaw.

Gantry

Pretty easy one for me as well, it's all Sweet Lou.  He and Doran are the only two hitters I keep in, and Doran blows...

Tommy Herr fans might want to sub "Blank" Morris at the #3 spot, it'll do wonders for ya...

Bobby Thompson got a vote?  Now I've seen everything...

vgp100

#3
Sorry, it was me.
Not only did I not want to vote for Lou Whitaker, I wanted my vote to stand out as a non vote for Lou.
The only good thing Lou does is bunt.
Dammit, I hate that guy.
You're going down, chainsaw.

RockRaines4life

Whitaker, basically because there's no one else to vote for.
What a horrible night to have a curse.

Sperling

Sweet Lou is the king of the Grand Slam (thanks to the lefty hit).

Baines

I gotta go with Sweet Lou on this one.  Granted, the guy tends to piss me off from time to time but it's not like there's a whole lot of competition at the 2B spot.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

fknmclane

Sweet Lou all the way.  He's a fucking RBI legend in my mind.  Another one that isn't even close.

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

riles

This position is REALLY bad...

My Top 3:

1) Lou Whitaker
2) Tommy Herr
3) Bill Doran / Gritch Tie

GDavis

Son of a Grich is way better than Herr in my opinion.  At least Grich has a little pop.

BeefMaster

While he is a horrible, horrible RBI player, I believe it deserves mentioning that until Doug Mientkiewicz homered last October, Steve Lombardozzi jointly held the record for longest last name of any player to homer in the playoffs (11 letters; Mientkiewicz has 12).

sperling, who is that guy on your avatar? He looks like a young Eric Lindros wearing tights.
You're going down, chainsaw.

Gantry

#12
That guy is Steve Blackford, 165 pound All-American wrestler for Arizona State.  It's eerie because that pic looks EXACTLY like Sperling, most friends probably wouldn't notice...

Now this on the other hand looks exactly like pots, because it's his senior year picture:

Lou and Trammel so far.

Where's the troll on this poll, I thought Bill Doran would get at least one vote.

Thompson's worse than Doran.  At least Doran has some speed.  Thompson's the worst player in the game as far as I'm concerned.

doveRBI

I knew my boy Sweet Lou would be vindicated someday.  Whatever 2 losers voted for somebody else should be banned from RBI.  Dee-nee to Lou Whit!

Don't mess with me Dove, I voted for Thompson. I'd do it again.
You're going down, chainsaw.

fknmclane

VGP, way to stick to your guns.  But I also have to question the logic behind voting for Thompson, let alone keeping him in for a single AB.

Is this not a reasonable way to vote?

Actually, I thought it was Hunter Thompson, not Robbie.

VGP, since we're on the subject of Fear and Loathing, what's your favorite moment in the movie?  Mine has to be when Johnny Depp counts down and then throws the orange at Benicio in the bathtub.  I just about piss myself every time I see it.  It's such a brilliant movie.
