Anyone interested in an secondary fantasy league, the ARL, for those of us not as lucky to get into the Official league... ...perhaps one day the Champion from our league can play the champion in the Official League, in something called the Super Series.

Any takers, if we can get six teams, that would be cool, I'm willing to share the running of the league duties.

I know I suggested earlier that perhaps we could have a second league running for people who couldn't get into the main one. Perhaps the bottom two teams in the main league could get "relegated" into the second league, while the top two teams from the second league get "promoted" into the main league.

I'd be happy to provide advice and help get anyone started who wanted to run something like this (always available via PM)

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Guido13

I'll bear the brunt of the duties if we can get some interest going, and I enjoy the relegation idea... ...I may be PMing you for more info if enough people are interested.

Ok, that's myself, TBT, Atte, Octo, so far... ...let's hold out for two more teams, I'll work on some rules.

If you need players to fill it up I can play, though  I am also in the other league.

he's too busy yelling at people.

he wanted in the other league.

You only are allowed to draft players not taken in the other league. It'll be a Minor League of RBI Baseball

1st pick, Rickey Henderson

I'm thinking $100 million payrolls, draft 10 players, with the 1st round pick making 10 mil, 2nd rounder 9 mil and so forth... ...then the rosters are filled in the free agent market for the other $45 mil of your payroll.

Drafted players are signed for 3 seasons... ...free agents 1 year, but original team can always match.

Using a player pool of both the arcade and the console (eventhough the arcade players will be chosen in droves)... ...that gives a large player pool especially with only the 6 teams.

Any thoughts?

Sounds good, but can 2 people have the same FA on their team?  How would order of FA's be determined or would it just be bidding?

Free Agent process:

Team makes a bid, minimum of $100,000, and the player is open for bidding for 24 hours from the original bid, at the end of 24 hours the original team that put the bid in gets a chance to trump the final bid if they still want the guy.

We would have to say you can only three bids at a time or something, with a little tweaking this could be fun.

Just got another confirmed, who will be logging on later today, that makes six with ultimate I think.

I agree sounds pretty good, probably will need to tweak a little, but not sure exactly what I'd change.  Maybe can't bid on 2nd FA until everyone else has bid on 1.

I like that tweak alot, let's put that one in play.

Do you think $100 mil will be too easy to work with? I mean you are stuck with $55 mil from the 10 picks (which should be interesting, really good players getting paid only 1 mil)... ...then you hav $45 mil to fill out the last 6 spots (or I suppose if you go a different route you could sign more than 16 players, just have some inactives)

Okay, $55 mil assigned to the draft picks.
The next 6 players signed for your team are 1 yr/restricted FA contracts.
Then any additional player beyond your first 16, you will be forced to sign for atleast 2 seasons, therefore making it less attractive to sign a bunch of inactive players because the money is tied up longer than just a year. <-- does that make sense? Maybe cap the rosters at 20 players, 16 active.

why don't we just make this a straight fantasy draft?  i'd do that.

I suppose we could, but all of this other tom-foolery seems like it could cause more conflict, and I like conflict.
