I think that was hypothetical.

Bastardo is trying to run a repeated keeper league with contracts (will see if it works out like that), the other league has been a start from scratch deal each time.

Congrats Nomaaa.  Dee-Nee's new Sandwich King.

Eventually the new upstart league will snuff out the old timers and win out via the keeper/contract intrigue factor... ...or it will suck and die off after one season similar to the XFL.

Move them from Milwaukee to Atlanta.

I took this one to the balls... ...for the record I hate the Atlanta Braves.

Trading for sure, and as long as you are below your cap of $150 mil, it can be any salaries.

I'm thinking maybe the salary cap should be lowered too, what are your thoughts? Maybe down to $145, maybe it really doesn't matter, who knows.

nomaaa

well, if there are $136 million for drafted players, how much will the free agents be? just 1 million? or what. 145 seems like a good number. also, the salary cap won't be that big of a deal, because it would be the players fault for letting stacked teams happen. but i still think that the salary cap is a fine idea. so no trading reggie jackson for spike owen.

And with that said, my pick is..................

Guido13

Free agents will be driven by the market, bids will be placed on them and total money offered wins out... ...for instance if someone wants Ozzie Smith and they say I'm offering Ozzie Smith 10 mil for 1 year, another team can say, well I will offer him 11 mil for 2 years and they would get him once the bidding is done because of the more total money offered.  Not sure if that makes sense.

nomaaa

yeah, it does.

but this doesn't to me...

does that mean if i offer him 6 million for two years, but someone offers him 10 million for one. does that mean i et him? because 12 > 10? or what. also, is someone the acting commissioner? because someone should probably look over everything. even if it's one of us, one who we can trust, of course.

Bastardo is the acting commissioner, and a damn fine one.

After the time-value-of -money talk regarding cotracts, I think this is a more complicated fantasy rbi league than anyone could ever dream of.  And I have lots of dreams about fantasy rbi leagues.

Also, how long has the draft been going on?  This thing's reminding me of the 80's babe draft.
"Thank you Mr. Toilet Bowl..thank you for being cool on the side...you're the only one that understands me."

ultimate7

2 things, It doesn't really matter what the cap is since we'll all have the same to spend post draft.
(this assumes there is a cap of players, maybe 20, meaning 4 reserves)

Also in many cases we'll be signing players that may not even play so it really doesn't matter that much

basically the cap is for future seasons mainly once these forced 16 million dollar contracts are up (who knows they all could be up next year if we assign 1 year deals) it could become a free for all.

as far as multiple year offers vs. single year offers, total dollar amount counts... ...if you offer John Smith 50 mil for 1 year, that beats out someone offering 48 mil over 4 years (but for cap reasons that 48 can be spread unevenly throughout the 4 years)... ...yup.

ultimate7

OK, that makes sense then for the cap.  Is there a roster limit?

this shits gonna make my head swim, but i like it.  i do kinda side with nomaaa though and think it woulda been more interesting to just do nes or arcacde, but im a happy guy anyways.

bastardo once you get all the details hammered out can you make a document that breaks everything down.  its been talked about here and there thru the 2 threads.

i must poop now.

so if someone is worth 15 million, are they always worth 15 million?
