I'll try to do this each week, first week is tough though.

1.  The OC - Returning Champs with their Post Season MVP back and picking up last season's regular season MVP, they gotta start at the top though they are hurting at catcher.

2.  The Unholy Legions - Last years runner up, and holy crap look at that starting lineup, but the pitching staff is a big question mark.

3.  Hip Young Popes - Looks to be the top new team, 2 starting pitchers that were very effective last season, and a strong line up.  Can Alexander and Cox have good years again, will the weak bench and borderline bullpen cost some wins?

4.  Creamy Pirates - They had a tough season last year, but their lineup is looking good and Ojeda and Reushel had decent seasons last year.

5.  The Tony Danzas - Nice lineup with some solid starting pitching and a strong bullpen.

6.  Nimrods - Last years regular season champs, solid lineup but much like the Legions the pitching staff is a huge question mark.

7.  Frank Tanana AS - No major weakness, but also no great strenghs, can Baylor move back to his MVP type first season?

8.  PoopyDicks - Strong #1 starter, but he wasn't great last year, lineup seems weirdly ordered

9.  S. Ark Penis -  Good Starting pitching and possibly the strongest bench, but probably the weakest starting lineup, may have to rely on small ball.

10. Baines - Pitching staff has lots of players coming off bad seasons, can they rebound?  Will speed at the top of the lineup pay off?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

I fundamentally agree with Ult's rankings. I'm interested to see how this all plays out.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

TβG

i would have the nimrods ranked higher.  i think he was being humble.

I initially had Nimods #5, but then I really liked the Danza's pitching staff, of course it's all arguable, the differences are slim and will change based on who actually wins games

i've played some watch games and i'm afraid.

I just watched a Baines vs OC matchup, with the Bainsers holding off a comeback run to win 12-10.  It was like watching a bunch of fat 10 year olds playing ball.  Sure they can hit, but their fielding and base running were worse than Manny Ramirez.
"Thank you Mr. Toilet Bowl..thank you for being cool on the side...you're the only one that understands me."

yes, this is the frustration and ecstasy one will feel while viewing such play.

I can't stand when my team doesn't turn a double play on a tailor made ground ball to SS because they throw to 3rd to get the lead runner.

I have a thread/puhl about watch game frustations that I should bump.

Baines

Ouch.  I didn't think my squad was that bad.

I will admit though as a lifetime straight pitch player I couldn't tell you the first thing about pitching abilities other than who can throw fast.  I figured Scott could throw a decent junk ball and Ryan at least had stamina and a nice heater.  As for the relievers I could really give a shit as the couple guys who stood out to me went earlier than I would've taken them.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

#11
Updated:

1 (1)  The OC - Returning Champs with an impressive win, keep up the #1 spot.

2 (9)  S. Ark Penis -  10 runs in 2 innings, looks like the new blood of the league is ready to take over.

3 (10) Parrish State - Wow, could make a claim for the number 2 spot, but it did take them 5 innings to pull it off.

4 [8]  PoopyDicks - What a pitching performance, may need to start scoring a bit more.

5 (7)  Frank Tanana AS - Nice win, just not as nice as the others

6 (5)  The Tony Danzas - Will need a better performance by the top of the order.

7 (6)  Nimrods - Not much scoring, not much pitching, only ahead of others because the bar was set so low

8 (2)  The Unholy Legions - No run production

9 (3)  Hip Young Popes - Couldn't hit Parrish State's pitching and the their pitching wasn't much better

10 (4)  Creamy Pirates - Ouch, nothing went right 10-0 in 2 innnings?

After week 2:

1 [2]  S. Ark Penis (2-0) -  Have big match up with Parrish State next week.

2 [3] Parrish State (2-0) - Can they hold down the Penis' offense?

3 [4]  PoopyDicks (2-0) - The offense got going, pitching has been scary.

4 [5]  Frank Tanana AS (1-1) - Gave S. Ark a good game

5 [8]  The Unholy Legions (1-1) - Nice turn around

6 [10]  Creamy Pirates (1-1) - Not sure what you'll get from these Pirates

7 [1]  The OC (1-1) - It wasn't pretty

8 [6]  The Tony Danzas (0-2) - Scored more runs this week but gave up way too many

9 [7]  Nimrods (0-2) - Will need to score more than 8 at some point if they hope to win any games

10 [9]  Hip Young Popes (0-2) - Made it 8 innings this time, so they are improving

Hmmm...I lose a game and still move up in the rankings.  I'm OK with that.

BDawk

Those power rankings are bullshit!! What, did ESPN do them?

Gerlost

The Hip Young Dopes are appropriately in dead last.

RedBarron

The Penis has exploded for 27 runs in 11 innings.

RedBarron

Make it 49 runs in 18 innings.

Whap, Whap muthafuckas!

Shooty

I would hope I move to #3 after this week.  2-1 now with the only loss being a 17-13 squeaker against the undisputed #1 Penis.
