Roger Clemens is opening a new theme restaurant called "Roger Clemens' Rocket Sports Grill" in Houston. The restaurant will feature memorbilla such as his Cy Young Awards.

Note: Hasn't just about every athlete-themed restaurant (other than Ditka's) gone out of business within two years? Looks like Roger's been taking financial advice from Lenny Dykstra...

Jack Clark was at John A. Logan College in southern Illinois on Sunday signing autographs with all proceeds going to the baseball program.

Keith Hernandez was hired yesterday as a color analyst for New York Mets games on SportsNet New York. He will be working the booth along with play-by-play man Gary Cohen and former Mets pitcher Ron Darling.

Weird, I had him as an analyst on the WATN already.  I wonder if he had another gig doing the same work for a different company or medium...

SportsNet New York is a new cable network, so perhaps he was doing Mets games for whatever station used to have the Mets?

Ron Darling was the Nats color guy last year, and a damn good one, he'll be missed.

MSG and Fox Sports used to have all the contracts for the Mets games. Ralph Kiner worked for Fox Sports along with Tom Seaver.

Is SportsNet New York the Mets new cable station?

Looks like SportsNet New York is partly owned by the Mets and will do 125 games this year:

John Franco is the pitching coach for Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic. The Italian team is led my Mike Piazza, and will be managed by Astros special assistant Matt Galante.

sometimes people fart and say that they would have claimed it if it was their fart.  saying that you claim your farts as an alibi is the "he who smelt it dealt it" of the new millenium.  nothing sounds more guilty than "i claim my farts".  that being said, i think piazza is a fudge packer.
