Alan Ashby, recently fired as the color commentator for Astros radio broadcasts, is a candidate to become the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority's next commissioner.

- Houston Chronicle article on possible hiring. Please not that he's up for a city job that pays up to $200,000 a year, despite only having taken "a few" community college courses.

EDIT: Fixed wrong date on subject.

The Bill Buckner Hitting Camps take place in late Jan. and early Feb. in Boise. I guess he won't be conducting any fielding camps...

Jack Clark was at John A. Logan College in southern Illinois on Sunday signing autographs with all proceeds going to the baseball program.

Interestingly enough, he said that the pitcher that he had the hardest time dealing with was Rick Reuschel.

"Whitey always said I could pull a bullet, but Reuschel ¦ man he could mess me up and put me in a slump right away."

Also, the story mentioned that Gary Sheffield flew him up to New York last year to work to receive some personal hitting instruction.

Added the quote to Jack Clark's database page.  If anyone is feeling up to it, that page needs MAJOR editing.  It has nothing (not even his rbi stats) but the quote I just added...

Nice work, you are on fire today.  Slow day at the office?

Small FYI - don't forget to wikilink the first instance of any year, as I have a database page for each of dem.  Already took care of it for Clark...

Since Nails has lost over 100K gambling, I'm not going to take his advice on playing the market.  Call me crazy...

More updates for the Jack Clark page - added Hall of Shame entries and a short blurb about him at the beginning.  We went from an empty page to a full page in minutes, thanks a bunch usc...

Yeah, my bosses are all out of the office today. I have a cold, and was going to leave early but wound up getting stuck doing this.

Plus, today I went ahead and set up Google alerts for every RBI player, so I have access to  RBI News as it becomes available.

I think Nails' actual advice was "car washes, car washes and poker", but they cleaned it up for him.

Is there a way to upload stuff to the wiki? I want to make an edit to the Jack Clark page and have a pic for it.

Nice work with the Google Alerts, that should be a huge help with up-to-the-minute RBI info...

Yes sir, glad to have any help!  Once you log in, there is an "Upload file" option on the left-hand side.  Once it's uploaded, keep a note of the name and put that in the Jack Clark page.  If you edit the page, you can see the syntax for adding a picture.  There are two ways to do it, with the thumb (you get a caption, like the first pic) or just the normal pic (like in the Pics section).  Give it a whirl and let me know if you have any trouble...
