My wife was shopping at the dollar store today and found a big pack of '92 Topps Gold that she bought for me.  3 RBIers in the package: Mookie (with the Blue Jays), The Weapon, and Tim Teufel (with the Padres.

Other notables include Randy Johnson, Eck, Goose Gossage, Frank Thomas, and Chuck McElroy.

What, you thought nobody would see this?

I though it was notable - I'd honestly forgot about the glasses-wearing Cubs reliever until I saw that card.

You guys just gave me a great idea.  I have at least 10,000 baseball cards,  I'm gonna look through 'em and find all the cards of RBI players.  Not tonight though.  Thanks for the idea!

Stock

Couple months ago, my mom picked up 2 boxes of '91 dontruss for $7.
Not a bad buy considering you still have a 1/12 chance of getting an Elite Card, a Nolan Ryan Legends card, or a Sandberg Signature Series card per box.
I got nothing.

Anyway, it's a really cheap way to get a bb card of about 2/3 of RBIers.

I said it once and I'll say it again - stock is smart

I have most of my cards entered into a spreadsheet on my computer (I only have 2,500 or so, so it's not nearly as big a deal as a 10,000-card collection).  I know there are some RBIers I don't have (Pedrique, for sure), but I'll bet there aren't many more than that.  I'll have to go through it and see who else I'm missing.

I thought everyone had an 88 Topps Rookie All Star Al Pedrique

Bonny

No Pedrique collection is complete without the living legend's 2004 Topps Traded manager card.

Metal King

Hail the great Al Pedrique!!!!

He's an All-Star on RBI but never in his actual (very short) playing career).

Oh,  and Tony Pena hit 10 hr with the Pirates in '86, but he's on the Cards on RBI and has 10 hr,  heh heh.

I have a few 1988 Donruss Al Pedrique cards.  Has his great 1987 season on the back, lol.

Attezz

Al Pedrique was never an all star? You just blew my mind.

At Wal-Mart (ugh) tonight I picked up two sets of Topps cards, they turned out to be reproduced rookie cards (I was drunk when finding them), I opened the first and there was nothing spectacular (Baldelli, Bay, Gary Matthews Senior, Sandy Alomar, and someone else) when I opened the second I was immediately greeted by Chet Lemon in a Sox uni, then Julio in a Tribe uni, and Joe Morgan in an Astros uni.

Awesome.

You must of picked up a couple packs of those All-Time Fan Favorites.

Baines

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

Bumpst - my wife bought me two little bags each containing 100 or so late 80s/early 90s cards at Savers today.  The first bag was a smattering of lots of years and brands, including a couple dozen Sportflics, about 10 football cards (mostly Vikings, complete with a Robert Smith draft pick), and an Oliver Miller basketball card.  The second pack was entirely '93 Score Select except for one card - a '91 Topps Don Zimmer.

Here's the RBIer haul:

Pack 1
Jose Canseco (95 Sportflics)
Tom Henke (91 Fleer)
Jeff Reardon (91 Topps, 89 Fleer)
Pat Sheridan (88 Topps - RBI year card!)
Robby Thompson (93 Topps Stadium Club)
"Ellis" Burks (93 Topps Stadium Club)
Mike Aldrete (89 Donruss, 91 Topps)
Tim Raines (90 Donruss - MVP)
Bert Blyleven (91 Fleer)
Chili Davis (90 Topps)
Andre Dawson (89 Fleer)
Tony Gwynn (89 K-Mart Dream Team)
Mike Schmidt (Little League "Baseball Wit")
Reggie Jackson (Little League "Baseball Wit")
Gene Larkin (91 Fleer)

Pack 2 (all '93 Score Select)
John Kruk
Roger Clemens
Ryne Sandberg
Lou Whitaker
Benito Santiago
Wade Boggs
Julio Franco
Lenny Dykstra
Glenn Davis (x4)
Dale Murphy
Roger McDowell
Bruce Hurst (x2)

This one has to be simply awesome.  And that's a lot of Geena Davis'.

Three of the Davis cards were right in a row - there were several cards like that in the package.

The Gwynn one is pretty neat - I always like finding cards like that, because you can't just buy packs of cards and get them.  I also have a K-Mart Andre Dawson that I got years ago, and I also have a few cards that I got in cereal boxes (a Ryne Sandberg from Corn Flakes, I think, and the whole set of "Home Run Kings" cards that were in Honey Bunches of Oats boxes a few years ago).

i used to have the entire 1989 K-mart Dream Team.  Other players were Gregg Jefferies, hJose Canseco, and Walt Weiss.  I remember what the Tony Gwynn card looked like, i think he was hold the bat on his shoulder in a non-hitting pose.  I can't remember who else was in that set...Tony Pena possibly?

Gwynn was up to the plate, holding the bat off his shoulder with one hand, like he was just stepping back into the box.

Sheridan's card shows him bunting.

wade boggs was in a stoic pose.

tony pena was in catching gear and handling a popup, i believe.
