Nearly record breaking performance tonight.  We played Death rules, just did not drink.  I, playing with Cali, took a perfect game into the eighth inning against my friend, who had Houston.  He is a very experienced player, so that's not the reason nearly was no hit.  Davis hit a lead off homer in the eighth, and he had two more hits that same inning.  Houston went hitless in the ninth, meaning the went 1-2-3 in 8 of the 9 innings.  Witt faced only 29 batters.  I realize Houston is a pathetic squad, but still, has anyone ever come this close to a perfect game?

So they ended up scoring 1 run in a 9 inning straight-pitch game?  If so, then he beats our record for futility.  Sperling had 1 run in the bottom of the 9th against Lips in the tourney, but ended up with 6.  I think our lowest output in straight pitch is 3...

how could he have only three hits in straight pitch and be considered good...  newbies can get three hits in the first inning in straight pitch.

Yes, he ended with only one run in a straight ball game.  It's hard to believe since he's been playing for years.  And he is a good player, just had a horrible night swinging the stick, was very unlucky, came up against a pitcher with great stuff, and I played good defense.  As it turns out, these are the same things that happen to a team in the majors that gets no-hit.

Everyone is prone to their bad games, so I'll chalk it up to back luck.  Still an impressively bad total for a skilled player.  But it's definitely a record....

he must have been liquered up or something cause that is the kind of night that will get you sent down to the minors.
