Julio just knocked in two runs with a base hit then stole second.

The dee nee tard mixed in with gantry looks a little bit like TBT

I'm sure the catcher isn't going to live that one down for awhile...

OctoFranco

Batting a solid .400, sweet.

I think Julio holds the record for oldest to steal 3rd, and possibly oldest to steal two bases in one game.

I wonder if Julio is regretting this arrangement with the Mets now though.  You know the guy loves to play ball, but getting a pinch hit every other game is probably not what he expected, especially not after being the starting first baseman for Atlanta for a third of the time last season.  Is Delgado injury prone?  Maybe Julio will yet get a chance to show off the leather...

My Dee-Nee should raise funds to take Delgado out, Anna Benson might contibute some

Pretty soon it is rumored that Franco may be the oldest person to live...

I'm going to take your NES controller and jam it so far up your ass that you'll need to learn how to work the 'A' button with your small intestine.

Julio got his second start of the season today, going 2-4 with a walk to bring his average up to an even .300.

This behind Tom Glavine, who incidentally gets his 8th win of the season.

I wish they were still on the Braves.

Also, the Mets traded away Jorge Julio so it won't confuse the fuck out of me for a second looking at the box score anymore.

OctoFranco

Update:

El Generalisimo is up to a staggering .349 batting average, having hit safely in 4 of his last 5 pinch hit appearences.  This has also brought his career batting average back up to an even .300, incidentally.

Gantry

.349?  What a fucking stallion...

1-4, 1 run, 1 rbi, and he stole third.

His average has now dipped to .333

Jewels is a doubles machine.  Six of his last seven hits have been two-baggers.  Finally saw a ton of play (relatively) during interleague, although I would be surprised if he got many more starts the rest of the season.

OctoFranco

Julio's average has dipped to .273 and he's been whiffing a LOT, but he's still holding strong.  Got the start against his former team (Atl.) yesterday and went 2 for 3 with a walk.  Unfortunately I did not watch/see the game, so I don't know if he was received as well by the fans as he was before, but I assume they still love him.

And another notch in his belt, Julio Franco becomes the oldest player to be subbed in as a pinch runner for Delgado today.  At least I am assuming no one older has ever done this.  Could be wrong.
