OK, I have invested most the day today cleaning the house and doing some much needed yard work.
I have also been multitasking by way of the bottle most of the day, but fealt inclined to make the 2500th topic on the RBI baseball board with a unique fantasy league.
No action will be needed on anyone's part other than a draft.
Let me know if you want in.

High level details:
Create 10 teams for straight pitch with 9 players (including a DH).  Play a full season with each team playing each other team 4 times.

How will I manage to do this?
I plan on creating a ROM with each person's drafted team.
Since this will be straight pitch (BP style), all pitchers will be given the exact same attributes (0 curve/sinker ability and slower/matching curve/sinker/fastball speeds).
I will then play every matchup in Watch mode, where I will only play offense.
Since pitchers will not matter, the ninth batter will be a hitter and there will be no pinch hitting allowed.  The purpose of making all the pitchers shitty (as you can see from above) is to best simulate a straight pitch bp style play with the computer pitching.  Also, walks and Ks will be turned off.
Will try my best to make base running happen as if I were playing against a human opponent (ie.. not take advantage of stupid throwing decisions).

I will keep stats of Hits, Home Runs, 2Bs, 3bs, RBIs, BA, and slugging for each player and team.
After the end of games, the top 8 will go to a double elimination playoff seeded accordingly.

The only thing participants need to do:
1.  Need 10 interested dee-neers (to prevent any biases, I will not have my own team unless we absolutely need a 10th).
2.  We will have a draft going 1-10, 10-1, etc.. untill all 10 teams have 9 players.
3.  Let me know your line-up and give me a team name/colors/abrev.
4.  Nothing.  Just watch as I post the stats/standings.

Why am I doing this?
Just for shits and giggles and to get some rbi playing back into my life before July.

Who's in??

I'm in.

Awesome!
My original plan was to just eliminate the bottom 30 players and use a RNG to make the 10 teams.  But then I thought, shit, why not let dee-nee in on it if they want.  I have 3 college buddies that want in if there is not enough interest on here to support 10 teams.

OctoFranco's in as well, but he's busy driving three hours to walk over a bridge on the Delaware/Maryland border, the fag.

But I guarantee he's in.

Two questions:

1) What happens in July?
2) Why is Octo driving to walk over a bridge?  Is he going to jump off of it?

Okay, so that was three questions...but don't you know that I am a cheater?

Hopefully dee-nee fest or I bought tickets for an unknown event in Chi-town.

Because he's a dumbass, apparently it's a tradition to have a few thousand (possibly 10 or so) walk over the Bay Bridge this time of the year.  We have bridges in town that don't require three hour drives and wasting two days to do it.

Although it doesn't matter to me either way, why not just have the CPU do the offense as well? It seems like it would be too much work to have to play out each game and record stats.

Big Hath

I'm interested

couple of questions:

is this NES, arcade, or both?

I'm assuming positions won't matter?  I could have a team full of 2nd basemen if I wanted?
Battle not with monsters lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Because, then I won't be playing.
Because the Watch Game season has already been done.
Because I want to see if I can get in 180 games before dee-nee fest w/o my wife leaving me.

for me to participate, we'll need to have the draft complete by May 13 because I'll be out of town from May 13 - 20

OK.
Worse case scenario; rank your choices from 1-90 and send them to me.  I can always draft on your behalf.

I'd be interested as I have all the players pre-ranked from the last fantasy draft.

Bumpst...
In an attempt to get this going asap, going to leave the available spots open until the end of the day tomorrow.
We have 5 people so far, with 5 spots reamaing.
I currently have 3 (non dee-neers) willing to participate if necessary.  The remaining spots I can just fill using a draft ranking based off of a "ranking" list I put together a while back.

So, let me know by tomorrow night if you want in.  Remember, you don't have to do a thing other than draft your team.

Come on folks, all you have to do is draft a team.  Time to change the News...
