are there any other baseball games you uys like playing at all?

rbi has a great, simple style of gameplay that most other games don't come close to. later games (thanks to increased technology) have things like season play, statkeeping, roster editing, more "realistic" graphics, etc.  i liked sportstalk baseball for genesis and i've played the high heat games for pc, but i can't stand how often that goddamn game crashes.

later games added new features and better graphics, but they forgot about the ease and fun of gameplay. i have been extremely and thoroughly disappointed w/ the majority of baseball games after the early nes ones like the rbi series

i dont know about you guys but after watching this boston v. toronto game i would have to say that they have adopted the dee-nee style of straight pitch.  it is in the 5th inning and tied at 11.  how did you guys convince the teams to play your style...

I like to play Bad News Baseball for the NES.  Joe and Greg always turn it off when im playing so they can play R.B.I. I dont see the problem with the game.  Its really fun to play and i like the close ups they show when its a close play.

Outside of baseball stars, the only other baseball game I put a lot of time into was Tony Larussa Baseball for the computer.  That was a kick ass game, though it was entirely based on stats and coaching, the gameplay was mostly done by the computer.  We used to have fantasy drafts and fill in our player stats, then go head to head over a simluated season.  Incredibly fun game...

bad news baseball sucks aaron,  you are wasting your time...  the umpires are rabbits in tuxedos... what else do you need to know about that game.

the only other baseball game i played regularly is little league baseball... we would get about six guys and play a tournament.  the shittiest guy would be allowed to pick his team first and so on...

new york was by far the best.
canada and texas were the next best teams.
california and taiwan were after that... if you could win with anyone else than you were very lucky.

Bad news baseball is better than little league baseball.  That game is terrible.  Its so far zoomed in when they hit the ball all u can see is the pitcher and catcher.  You dont even know if your 1st baseman is at the base when u throw it.  And if the game is so good, y did u give it 2 us?

Another fun game for the NES is baseball simulator 1000.  You could use special items when batting and pitching.  when u r batting u can have like a missile and when u hit it and its always a line drive.  When the fielders try to catch it, they just fly all the way to the fence.  When u pitch u can throw a bowling ball and the batters wont hit it past the pitcher.  Pretty fun to play but too easy against the computer.

baseball simulator and baseball stars had season play and kept stats which was nice. however, they weren't as fun to play as rbi, and i recently downloaded a bunch of old nes and sega roms, and those games now have very little playability- very few games that were good back then are still worth playing today.

also, i remember owning legends of the diamond. i liked playing with the hall of fame players in that game, plus sometimes the hitters and pitchers would trash talk.

Baseball Stars was a fun game.  I liked making my own teams.  Needless to say, the player named "Dill" was always the best.  Dusty Diamond Softball was ok for a laugh.  Where else can you bat using the devil.  There was some other baseball game, but I can't remember what it was named.  It had real team names, but made up players.  For some reason, I remember one of the pitchers being named Ott.  Does anyone remember the name of that game?   I Think it was just the name of the company who made the game, such as (Company Name) Baseball.

Damn, I just remembered the name of the game thanks to EBAY.  Tecmo Baseball.  Decent gameplay, and good for two player action.  Sportstalk Baseball for Genesis was the best non-NES baseball game.  The voice gets annoying, but I like the Tigers on that game with Fryman, Fielder, and Tettleton in the middle of the lineup.

tecmo did make a great game but it was not for baseball...   tecmo bowl is to football as rbi is to baseball... simple, yet very competitive.

i loved the raiders and their bo jackson marcus allen combo.

The Raiders were my team of choice.  I don't think I have ever been beaten with them.  Me and Stuart actually considered playing Tecmo Bowl the other day, but we just played more RBI.  Besides, the last time I played him it was ugly, like 70-21 or something.

the thing i loved about tecmo was the playbook... four plays...  it was all about execution.  if the defense picked your play you were screwed.

tecmo bowl is the king of all football games....the chicago bears cannot be beat....i like to be them or the niners....the raiders i consider overated...because if you stop bo...you stop the whole team...

the bears defense was a force...and willy gullt was the fastest guy in the game.  another good team was the giants... LT was unstoppable.  the raiders were strong cause they could move the ball through the air if you came up for the run.

Tecmo Bowl is a great game.  Your defensive is basically whoever you are using, so the Giants and LT are the kings there.  LT takes away field goals and 80% of the extra points as well...

I play a mean Giants, but Sperling and San Fran are the best in the house.  They have that ass across-the-middle pass that can't be picked off...

the cowboys also had a pass play that if you executed it correctly could not be stopped.  it was the play where all three receivers would do a button hook.  if you passed it to them as they were making the turn, it was good for 10 yards a pop... plus, you had hershell walker on the ground... there defense is swiss cheese.

LT is the best player in the game.  he covers the entire field.

the bears actually have two of those unstoppable plays, and added to the frustration of that is that one of em goes to  a guy named cap boso.....they can run like the dickens with sweetness and their defense is somothering...LT is a house, but pretty much a one man show on that squad....san fran is nasty....and lott is the fastest guy ive seen on the game
