Gentlemen, it has been a little bit since I have posted here, but a recent loss to my buddy Shaun has prompted me to get some help.  The problem is, since about one year ago I have slid from a solid pro RBI baseball player into an intimidated, weak, shell of a player, making rookie mistakes (throwing to the wrong base, mis-judging fly balls) left and right. Just two days ago, after our beloved Brew Crew picked up their third victory of the season, Shaun and I decided a game of RBI was in order - it became the greatest RBI game I have ever been involved in - 19 innings, 7-4 Shauns Giants over my Cards in a curve pitch game.  Now, it sounds all well and good, a well played game between a couple of good RBI players, but the fact is I had a 2-1 lead in the ninth, a lead that a former version of myself would have closed the door on.  Instead a solo shot ties the game and Ron Robinson dominates for 10 innings, still throwing over 60 mph in the 19th along with being able to curve the ball over the plate and slowing down to 27 mph.  Needless to say I was not to happy after this loss, but more importantly I am scared to play anyone now.  I am friggin' intimidated by other good RBI players - Help Me Out Here, I am dying in the unseasonalbly warm heat that we are experiencing up here in Milwaukee.  Help me out of my terrible RBI losing Funk.
Later, Guy in Milwaukee
PS - This wasn't the greatest game Shaun played in, a year or two ago he ended a scoreless tie extra innings game in the 13th with a Roger McDowell Wallzie, beating Charles 1-0.
PSS - This wasn't the greatest game I have seen, that would have to go to Joe B., pitching the only perfect against Brandon in league play three years ago.  Joe masterfully held back from scoring 10 runs and was able to complete the perfect nine innings of play with 17 strikeouts.

Hey there Guy, good to hear from ya again...

And I know exactly how you feel!  About a month ago, I fell into this same sort of slump.  Suddenly I'm losing 75% of my games and hitting better with righties (which explains the horrific winning percentage)!  All this with the 2002 championships a few weeks away.  I have improved in the last couple weeks, but I'm still a shell of my former self, especially with my lefties.  Wally Joyner and Ruppert Jones are getting out two-thirds of the time lately and I have zero confidence when they come up to bat.  I need a remedy fast or I'm going to lose my title...

To make matters worse, Potsie has crawled out of the woodwork and is kicking everyone's ass.  Not only is he winning 85% of his games, but he's getting slaughters over half the time.  Potsie!!  He hasn't been a top-two player since the very first tourney back in 99.  And now, right around tourney time, he has turned into Babe Ruth.  It's the exact thing I did last year and I pretty much blew through the comp...

Things are looking bad for me, though I will find a way to persevere.  The key with our tournies is just to get to the finals.  From there anything can happen...

PS - Are you saying he won a 1-0 game in the 13th inning with a pitcher homer?  I would pay to see that game...

as as funks go guy, you just have to hang in there....much like life, RBI baseball is cyclical....i too have been slumping a bit lately....ive been misplaying balls...making running and thowing mistakes...failing to capitalize on t's mistakes/verbal assaults...all in all, ive just been a B+ player lately...and that is frustrating....the key is to stay with it...give yourself a chance and stick with it...christ, i even lost a game, a curve game actually trying to messa the other day....and thats a low point for me, but i feel like he's getting much better....the point is, we all go through this....it will all correct itself...you need that confidence back....like that time jimmy connors went to the US open finals...he just needed to believe he could win...and with that, both you and gantry shall return to your true forms....

ps.....a 1-0 pitchers duel kicks major ass...bass for your face....
A couple of jesters? In the court of the king! IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE TELLING ME?!?!?!?

What the hell?  A real pitcher homer?  I need some follow up on this subject.  Have I been under a rock, or is this the first REAL pitcher homer?

I wasn't there for the McDowell homerun, but the sources are trust-worthy.  Despite never seeing one live, I have heard of other pitchers hitting homeruns through walls.
