Wilfong

Garner got a lot of credit here in the mid 90s because our teams were awful and he had us playing hard and, generally, within shouting distance of .500. Then, when the losing seasons started to mount, we had to get rid of him, even though everyone liked him. So I guess he was a good motivator. Those were some truly awful teams, I guess not as bad as the ones Lopes and Royster managed though.
Justin, I feel your pain, this is the first shot the Brewers have had at .500 in over a decade, I'm starting to worry about them though, we've slipped since the break.
-Side note, I barely misssed meeting Garner in my sportswriting class at uwm. If he hadn't been fired, he would have talked to our class. I guess he did it for many years and  talked so much that the professor would generally have to ask him to stop. I did, however, get to meet Davey Lopes when I was an intern. I had to really fight the urge to talk RBI with him whenever I passed his office.

I'd always wondered if any of the RBI players know they are in the game and it's still actively being played...
