It's a sad day when an RBI Hero looses his job!

It is, but 9 (ten if you count this year) straight losing seasons will do that to ya...

poor phil...first disrespected by not being put in an otherwise anemic astros lineup, and now this...

my, how far the mighty tigers have fallen
A couple of jesters? In the court of the king! IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE TELLING ME?!?!?!?

well they are 0-2 in the luis pujols era...  i dont think it was garner's fault... that team is just ass...

Being a diehard Tigers fan, they need some kind of change.  First of all, though, they need to get rid of, oh let's say, about 25 players.  Hell, they could get us on the team and we wouldn't do any worse.

The RBI version of the Tigers would run rule the current Tigers in about 3 innings. No contest.

Well it's true when the players suck, the manager is always to blame. It's easier to get rid of one then to get rid of 25.

There's 2 kinds of managers, one who has just been fired, and one who is going to be fired.

Well that last post by Burnzky was by GPines, forgot to log out. Another free one for Aaron.

i was going to say,  aaron was looking way too smart there for a moment.   now it makes sense.   anyways, the tigers have to let dombrowski do his thing and it is important that you fans give him time.   he will turn that team around with good pitching and some rabbits to run down flyballs in that "yellowstone" of an outfield.

looks like the tigers decision to fire an rbi legend has not payed off.  they are currently 0- 11 and dont seem any better with luis pujols calling the shots.  yesterday, with a two run lead in the eighth,  closer Matt Anderson came in and poured his gas can on a small flame leading to a 13- 7 loss to the twinkies... somewhere, phil garner and his 80s mustache is smiling.

This is what they get for firing an RBI legend.  If you are going to ax a guy , fine, but doing it 6 games into the season is just plain stupid....

its only a matter of time before felipe alou gets the job cause i have a feeling that pujols is going to off himself rather than go down with this sinking ship.  garner will resurface somewhere.

He might make it back as a 3rd base coach or something, but I doubt you'll see him as a manage again.  Only one winning season out of ten is a very unimpressive resume...

the tigers finally win again..the ghost of tom brookens comes down to bless the lowly tigers with a W....i think that they should get the old gang back...brookens....heath....doyle....all of em...and offer to coach/manage/play for the team...they could turn the whole thing around

if you watched sportscenter last night, they spliced in the scene of the 84 tigers celebrating after winning the world series...  needless to say, this years version will not be playing in october but it was hilarious just the same.

I'm super bored, so I pulled this one out of the vaults. I think we're all happy that you were wrong on this one - even though a third managerial position could ban him from ever being a legend, right?
I'm hoping Scrap Iron will lead the stros to the playoffs.

Good call up Wilfong...  Hard to belive Phil got another chance with his resume but it's not all about wins and losses I guess.  Glad I was wrong on this one...

Got to see Phil manage against Pedrique tonight...from the first row above the DBacks dugout!  Bitches!  Shit, too bad the DBacks have been reduced to a AAA team.
