Mr. Blubbo

Wait a second I don't agree with that lineup one bit.  We need to talk.  Tony Gwynn?  No way.  Check PM's.
Here's your ball!

Mr. Blubbo

We need to change the lineup to this:

1) Raines
2) Morris
3) Gibson
4) Ripken
5)Laudner
6) Davis
7) Teufel
8) Herr
Here's your ball!

BDawk

Can you guys please argue on the site, not via PM? I'll enjoy it more to actually see it

Attezz

Blank Morris will be better served coming off the bench, when he'll actually have power.

Tony Gwynn may not look like much, but he has amazing speed and anything hit weakly and on the ground will surely turn into a triple the majority of the time.

Plus, he'll be pinch hit for come the 7th inning for Blank Morris, when we'll need Blank Morris the most.

This needs to be a poll.

Mr. Blubbo

#14
1) Blank has plenty of pop he doesn't need to come off the bench for the power to be there.
2) He is a lefty batting behind Raines and therefore when Raines gets on he have the lefty hit bonus attribute
3) This will allow Gibson to take advantage of a potential lefty hit for the 3 run HR and bat in a run producing slot (#3)
4) We all know what speed did for Coleman.  Speed is fine if he gets a hit.  Problem is that he won't get a hit many times and certainly won't drive in runs.
5) Continuing on #4, the rate limiting effect is in order.  Which means that Gwynn can only be as fast as the person in front of him.  Therefore Gwynn can be blazing fast but if our studhorse Teufel or your studhorse Herr get on Gwynn will have nowhere to go.
6) Gwynn would be much better served getting minimal AB's and being subbed in for the pitcher.  That way he won't limit Raines' speed if Raines gets  a hit after him.
7) We have plenty of left handed power coming off the bench in Randy Bush.

- And on a side note Glenn Davis can not hit #3.  He needs to be moved down behind Ripken and perhaps even behind another studhorse, Laudner.
Here's your ball!

Attezz

But Blank Morris doesn't have enough power to hit it out, and is slow as anything. Whereas with Gwynn, if he can get it out of the infield he's fast enough to produce a triple every time.

Plus, if Raines gets a hit, it's pretty much a guaranteed double, so it doesn't so much matter.

Is there any way to see the stats from last season?

What if we alternate the lineup every week?

fightonusc

You can change line-ups every week, FYI

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Mr. Blubbo

Why do you say if Raines gets a hit he is guaranteed a double?  It is only a double if it gets by the OF'er and for most players when playing against the PC that is a double anyways.  I think the issue is that you havn't seen Morris play before.  He actually has some power.  Gwynn on the other hand is one of the worst players in the game.  If speed matters most then we should be starting Molitor.  I would rather start Molitor over Gwynn as well.
Here's your ball!
