alright, where davidson (minnesota bench) might not be the next right-handed ruppert jones, i have found him to be a steady performer. bban can attest. he takes a lot of smack on this forum, and in the rankings, and to do him justice i feel i should relay a few stats from a recent best-of-seven set against detroit. i subbed davidson for gladden, so he batted in the one slot.

5-15, 2HR, 2DB, 4 RBI

solid play from an unexpected source - in non-straight pitch mode, mind you.

not to go against my beloved colleague...but im not sure about the accuracy of those numbers...ill give you this...

davidson hit a homerun against the tigers....he got a spot hit here or there...however, most of it was in garbage time and i think t is getting the series between the angels confused with our last one....davidson at best is an overacheiving danny heep....

id like to bring up one thing though, jose cruz is the master of a hit i like to call the "dinkfuck" where he just barely hits it and it trickles between the possessed shortstop who is on a b-line to third and my no-kneed third baseman....t hit about 8 in a row of those last night...pisses me off

if you give the twins enough time,  bush(the cream) will rise to the top and davidson will show you why he has earned his reputation.

I agree with Gwynn, Randy Bush is the bench king of the Minnesota..   Davidson is a gamer for me, but has too many crappy games to go along with the good ones.  Consistency is the key in RBI...

davidson might not be the worst in the game off the bench but he is last off the bench for the twinkies.

Be sure and give the Tettleton (aka check swing) stance a try with Davidson.  I did knock a dinger with Davidson that way, my opponent was very unhappy...

whenever i try the tettleton i always end up going to far and end swinging before the ball reaches the plate.  in the event that i do get into position it is rare and often too late.

In straight pitch, the Tettleton is easy to pull off.  The shorter swing means there's less room for error.  Also, we pitch outside a large % of the time, so you are typically in the right spot before it's thrown...

I dont know about those Davidsons numbers, too me they look mediocre at best.  Those look like Dykstra/Mookie numbers.

ill have to agree with pines on this one....first off, it is all about kirk gibson (after mr brookens that is), and 7-18 is good if you want to platoon for the astros...but this is the big leagues t....we must also remember taht anyone producing with those kind of power numbers blows t away since he's used to floundering with the cardinals
