if you rule that all teams must remain two starters and two relievers, then i contest that all pitching rotations must remain in natural order as well (SP1, SP2, RP1, RP2), because of the way watch games work out.  the way that the computer manager handles the bullpens it makes more sense to do it uniformly across all teams.

I also think that no starting pitcher should be allowed to have 2 consecutive starts. But this can be voted on next season.

I like that idea, but that's a lot of extra fiddling with the ROM - you'd have to change it every week even if there were no trades.

i think it's a great idea too.  but i wouldn't want to run the league, either....

I have often stated that when it comes to RBI, I am a purist.

so what team do you own?  the cardinals?  the tigers?   ...that's what i thought.  there is no purity in rbi or real baseball for that matter.  it's always changing.  we are playing fantasy rbi baseball and we can make up whatever rules we want.  

again, i trust richard will come up with a fair decision.

Trade denied. I've made it clear since the beginning that you must have two SPs and two RPs. The issue is more with the advantage (setting match-ups, extra inning games) that The OC would get by having a third SP and less the disadvantage the FTAS would have from only having one SP.

I'm willing to hear an appeal if one is made.

But the OC would have the disadvatage because they would have Saberhagen.  Have you seen his stats this year?  If I could, I would bench him and have only three pitchers.  I will trade him for Raphael Santana if I could.

While we're at it, why don't we just let a team start 6 OFs?  Why not let the same guy bat twice in the order?  Why not use 1988 attributes rather than '86 and '87?  It's a slippery slope.  Let's stick to the rules.

tsk, tsk, tsk... the old slippery slope fallacy.  what i have proposed is not strange to real major league baseball we see today.  when do you ever see two starters pitch in the same game?  now that THAT fact is brushed aside, how many relief pitchers do we see in a game?  it is very common for there to be at least three relievers.

I think whatever rules were placed at the beginning should stand. No rule changing in the middle of the season, damn it. The oc are cheaters, i say we grab our torches and pitch forks and force them out of the league.

It'd be a pain to do - since he starts the game in Watch Mode, the computer would pick the starters unless he could get it changed for both teams before it selected them, so he'd have to act both quickly and ambidextrously.

Wouldn't it just be a matter of alternating the lineup?

Also, I wouldn't be opposed to having the order each week be SP, RP, RP, SP if the SP's switched game to game.  That might be the best way to run things.  But I think it should be standard from team to team.
