I dunno how many of you ever did or do WATCH games much, but I started a watch game one day then took a shower.  Late in the game, Houston was up on American 8-7 in the 8th inning, then American came back to tie it in the bottom of the 9th.  It stayed 8-8 until the bottom of the 12th, with 2 outs, runners on 2nd and 3rd......

The #9 hitter,  the great TOM HENKE steps up to the plate, and pokes a fairly hard-hit game winning single to left field to win 9-8 in 12 innings.

I kinda figured Houston would lose.....

The Fantasy RBI seasons are all played in WATCH mode, so at least some people have actually watched them quite a bit.  Pitchers are still crappy hitters, but with the computer's fielding "skill", they're not the automatic outs that they often are when humans play.

Do you guys keep any stats of any of the seasons, like runs, homers, hits, wins, etc?  I"ve never done a complete 9-game watch "season" before, I just use the teams.  But you probably have longer seasons.  I'd usually only end up with 15-20 homers for the big home run hitters at the end of the seasons because of that 10-run rule.

i think we should defy the government, and start up a gambling site just for RBI watch games.

under the radar and all, but when they find out they'll be pissed to know just how much fun we are having.

Do a search, for the NES and Arcade teams I did a full 36 game season, I plan to do another in the future keeping full stats.

GoReds and I STILL owe drinks from our drinking watch game 5 years ago.

I can't imagine doing this for money....

But we do have lots of things we do for dollar bets...  The Super Bowl was fun... I won a buck on the opening kickoff and then also won a buck later for a score from an odd number of yards and a score from a player with even #'d jersey.

Here is the Fantasy RBI website, although the stats are for the season currently in progress, which is in only through 6 games, I think.  If you check the archive, though, you can find some previous full-season results.

Note that the teams aren't the default RBI teams, but teams put together through a re-draft of all the players in the game.  The draft is oddly compelling, including a fair amount of both buffoonery and cutthroat tactics.
