It was a well played game. We were hitting seeds right at people. We should have put it away early. Fuckin Donny Baseball picked a great day to take a shit. The Empire's post game conference is scheduled in one hour.
OC still has some heart left. Fuckin Saberhagen sure did pick great day to deal.

I just watched the GDavis-Cop game. GDavis got shut down...does George Bell ever make an out? The Cops had a good outing with the sticks. Evans went oppo and Henderson hit a blast. GDavis lack of speed hurts him. Oh well, The Empire and GDavis are still in first, but there is a whole lot of ball left.

Fuckin Wally Joyner killed us. Reggie hit a nice oppo bomb. Ryne Sandberg is in a bad slump.

                                                               Post Game Conference

Today in front of our loyal fans, we came up short to the OC. This loss is a tough one to take considering our early lead of 7-1 in the second inning.
As usual, we have failed in putting away a team while the momentum was on our side. Mike Krukow did not spot the ball well and as a result, the OC capitalized on his mistake pitches.
We played tough and The Empire does realize that winning every week in the RBI Fantasy League is not easy. The OC are two time defending champions and they outplayed us today. This is a very tough league where anyone has the ability to win on any given day.
Today is over and done with, and we are now assessing our scouting report for next weeks crucial division game against the Coprophiliacs.

Q: Lord Darkside, The Empire has yet to win at home. Can you address this problem?

A: I am considering taking away the curfew and allowing our players to party all night and wake and bake in the morning to take the edge off.

Q: Wade Boggs and Ryne Sandberg were a combined 2-11 at the plate. What is your response to their bad day at the plate.

A: Wade Boggs will no longer hit in the two hole. Will Clark shall be promoted there. Ryne Sandberg needs a live chicken to take the curse off him that has followed him from Chicago..

Q:  Are you pleased with Reggie Jackson's 3-5, 1 HR, 4 RBI performance? And are there any regrets about trading Pedro Guerrero and Wally Joyner considering that they torched The Empire today?

A:  We know Reggie will put up big numbers and we are very happy that he demonstrated great leadership today. We do not regret the trade, and we are not surprised by the great performances of Guerrero and Joyner.

Q: There are whispers going around that The Empire will not be able to recover from this devastating loss which will lead to a losing steak and possibly missing the playoffs. What do you say to that?

A: Nonsense. You do not know the power of the Darkside. The Force will shift our way and The Empire will grow strong with the force. We still fully expect to win it all and we will. I guarantee it.

No further questions and may the Force bless our Galactic Empire.

The Attarack @ Hip Young Popes game video is attached. Watch if only for one of the worst defense performances ever (and frankly, some of the most bizarre computer-controlled plays ever).

8 errors by one team....what a circus, and a complete game by a pitcher. The DoveRBI division does not seem that strong.

The baserunning in the top of the first I've never seen before and I've seen literally thousands of watch games.  Apparently the overthrow caused Raines to forget he had to tag up.

Overall very weird game but I believe that was the only thing I'd never seen before.

I was going to do a big recap of the week, but fuck it - I'm exhausted from travel and not feeling very creative. So, I'm just going to post the recaps...

BREAKING NEWS:

HOLLYWOOD, CA - The Fantasy RBI Baseball Commissioner's Office today announced two trades, effective for Week 9 and both involving The Empire. In the blockbuster deal, The Empire has sent Reggie Jackson and Denny Walling to The Poopydicks for Brian Downing and Chris Speier. Shockingly, it is the second time this season that Reggie Jackson has been trading, having come to The Empire from The OC earlier in the season.

Additionally, The Empire has sent Jim Lindeman to The Frank Tanana All-Stars in exchange for Kirby Puckett.

The empire has no weaknesses in the lineup.  Catcher is the weakest link, but our signal caller is no slouch with the stick.

You fuckers should go ahead and hand over that trophy now.

Ha! The Empire has had a long term plan all along. Reggie is awesome, but we parlayed him and now we get Speir and Downing....more balance to our lineup as opposed to Reggie Jackson and Denny Wallling. The Poopydicks and the OC have been had....see ya..wouldn't want to be ya.
We should maybe lose one game more at the most for the rest of the season...including the playoffs.
Oh, The Empire has begun it's dynasty.

I have to admit that I got a little scared of the Empire when they acquired Reggie.  Now that they've traded him for spare parts I can breathe easier.
